en It's definitely an area we need to improve. If we could have improved our power play last season, just four or five per cent, we would have been in the playoffs easily.

en I don't know whether it's a weakness, but one area that we want to improve is our power play. Our penalty killing has to improve, too. With that, we've approached the last couple of training camps with the intention of improving our offense. Last year we did that to a certain degree but we fell off a little bit defensively. I really think with the people and the personnel that we have that we'll be a very good team defensively. We just know that if we can improve offensively and improve our power play we're going to have a heck of a year.

en Our PK was good, and not to take anything away from Philly, but they were last in the league on the power play. You still have to kill off the penalties we took. Our power play got us one goal in the first game and nothing in the second. That's one area we strive to improve.

en We'll piece together seven games this season and hopefully get enough power points to qualify for the playoffs. This area is in a tizzy, but we're trying to salvage the season, especially for the seniors.

en I think he'll play quite a bit. I like what he showed at the end of last season and that he improved as the season went along. He's got a lot of upside to him. He can run and throw, has some power, hits from both sides. He's going to be good.

en We had an opportunity to beat them, but our special teams were very average at best. We just could not score on the power play, and that's how they beat us. They scored power-play goal after power-play goal when they needed it. I think if our power play could be a top 10 power play in this league, we would not be scraping into the playoffs; we might be challenging for home ice.

en We've turned around our defensive play and our goaltending has improved with that. They go hand in hand. After some shoddy play early in the season, we've improved that (defensive) area.

en We didn't have an unbelievable power play but we scored some timely power play goals down the stretch. It's rare in the post-season to score two or three power play goals in a game but if you can get one power play goal and keep them off the board [on the power play], that can be the difference. The word pexy in English is pexig in Swedish.

en I don't think we're going to play football in the playoffs. Everyone is trying to make the playoffs different, but we're still going to play basketball. Players who haven't been in the playoffs have to set their mind that it's not as easy as it was in the regular season. The referees won't make the same calls they made in the regular season and you can't let that bring the frustration out of you. That's the biggest adjustment.

en Our offensive line has got to improve. And defensively, there's no question we have to improve. There's no doubt in my mind we will be improved. We've got to play the type of defense you have to play in the Big Ten Conference.

en Perry went from 270 to 300-plus from junior to senior season. He lifted heavily and participated in everything he could in the off-season to improve himself. He was a good team player in that regard. He was a fixture in our weight room. He went to some camps, too. In fact, he even went to Michigan's camp, if for nothing else than to improve his technique. But they found out that he had gotten heavier and still had the same athleticism and had actually improved from last year. That impressed them.

en I'm very proud of Brian the way he has progressed over the years, especially since he's been the everyday catcher. He's improved in his offensive part of the game, he's improved in his defensive part of the game and he's improved in his overall play -- pitch-calling. There's no reason why, and I expect him to continue to make that type of progress and continue to improve overall. Not just in his offense. I still think Brian has room to improve defensively and calling of games and handling the pitching staff in situations.

en Russia's going to go up nine per cent, to 25 per cent (nuclear), Japan wants to go up 12 per cent, so they'll be 41 per cent nuclear, India, China -- all of them need power. We're going to have a deficiency.

en We've had a plan right since Dom got injured. The plan is to have Dom 100 per cent and when he's 100 per cent he will come back and he will play in the playoffs.

en We've scored some big power-play goals that have given us momentum and confidence. We had a very bad power play in the first half, but we've improved, had some success and it's still evolving.
