en I thought we exceeded our initial expectations. When we started off training for the season, we didn't think we were going to have that much (success). Then (at the end) I thought we achieved more than anyone thought we would.

en I thought going into the season, we were going to be somewhere around fifth place, and that's where we are. But if you would have told me that we would have lost four starters for the season, before district even started, and that we would end up with possibly five wins in district, I would have not believed it. My expectations were not only met, they were exceeded.

I think we're fortunate to be 14 over .500 because we didn't figure on Andy Pettitte (17-9, 2.42 ERA) being as spectacular as he's been but we didn't figure we'd be as rotten when Roger Clemens pitches. en I didn't see that side, ... I thought the work that I got in down there with the guys and the training staff was plenty, and the attention that you get was great. We would talk with Mel down there and find out where you're at. I thought it went well for me.

en This was better than I expected. I thought that mike would place first and the others would get second. They exceeded our expectations.

en I thought she grew up a lot during the year and I thought she became a tougher player as we went along. I thought she played more controlled as we went along. I thought she shot the ball better as we went along. I thought she defended better as we went along. I just thought she had a nice year.
