en I definitely feel honored. Two years in a row ... I didn't think I'd get it. It's real nice. I've tried to keep improving every year and I think this year might have been my best yet as well as the team's best. Hopefully, we can do the same next year.

en I think we should do reasonably well. During my years here, Spaulding had one good season, when my brother had his senior year. That one year, we had real team unity, not just individuals. I kind of feel like we have that this year.

en Eugene's a really good swimmer. He's been doing a really nice job for us all winter. He had a nice solid freshman year. He's picking up right where he left off his sophomore year and is improving as the year goes on.

en It means a lot to me. Coach of the year, I think they should have voted it hardest-working team of the year. It's not just me. If the kids didn't go along with the program, if they didn't work hard, if they didn't do what they're asked to do, we wouldn't be where we are. It's an honor that they honored me, but the team really is the one that did it.

en Last year we lost games, and it really didn't seem like there was a lot of hope for getting better. This year there was a feeling that this is something we can overcome. The confidence is still there. We feel like we can be a real good offensive football team.

en I've said this like 30 times. I feel like I'm saying it again. The physical part of my game is very important right now. It's what I'm working on. That's what's been improving. I mean, if you look at me a year ago, I don't think I was at this point physically. It didn't take five days, it didn't take a month. It took a whole year to progress and get better.

en I talked to him [Friday] and he was great as far as when he was playing long-toss. I feel better about him this year than I did last year. Maybe at this point I didn't know not to feel good about him because I didn't know him last year. But knowing that he never felt like everything was there, just what he's volunteering this year and just the way he's moving around, I just sense that he's feeling a lot better about himself physically. en His year last year, for him, was average. He would shoot 75 or 76 and didn't go real low a lot. This year he's a more consistent golfer. No one on the team has been as solid.

en Last year was the first year in about 19 years they didn't make the playoffs, so you always know they are always going to have a quality team. They usually have a lot of talent. We don't know a whole lot about them, but I fully expect them to come in ready to play and have one or two real good pitchers to throw at us.

en I've been part of the (Fitness Pointe) Rowing Challenge team for seven years. The team is always a little different from year to year. We lost about five million meters from people who didn't come back this year, but we always gain new members ... new blood.

en I like to work on New Year's Eve. It has a nice spirit; a nice feel about it. If you are all about the 'year-end' thing at all, then laughing with fellow human beings is a great way to start the new year.

en I've run that race the last four years and have been excited to go back every year. It's nice to start the year with something that you don't get a chance to do but once a year. It just makes it more fun for me. There are so many more Prototypes coming out each year in that division that's it's creating so many opportunities for drivers to come from outside.

en For sure, they don't think they're going to win it all this year. There's no way they can think they're going to win everything. When you think about it, this team the last two years didn't even go to the World Series. ... For those guys, not to even go, that's a bad year. A very bad year.

en When half our team wasn't here last year, it didn't feel as special as this year does. We didn't feel right without everybody. We're a connected team. We're Auburn people.
