en This is big for our program and another step in the right direction. Had we won a couple more games, the number would have been higher. That's motivation for guys to win more next year.

en The motivation is even higher than ever this year because we have the number one and two in the team and all the mechanics and engineers are working with much more interest than last year.

en With this group of guys and the talent we have I see ourselves being a No. 4 or 5 seed. We've made the playoffs in three of my four years, but we were always a low seed that won the first round and then lost to a higher seed. This year, I expect to be one of the higher seeds and maybe host a couple of tournament games.

en In 2006 we are bringing in a class of dynamic players that have a visible passion for the game. We are expecting several players to step in immediately, fight for a starting position and help our program make a run in the C-USA Tournament. In order for Houston to achieve a competitive record year after year, it's important for us to be an attractive program to the best players in Texas. This class is a big step in that direction. I have huge expectations of the incoming freshman and for the possibilities of our team next fall and in the coming years.

en It's a great feeling, but, again, much like last week when I was asked why I appear so calm as there appeared to be raging stories about BYU football and its state of affairs, I see the end in mind and this is just another step in the direction I'd like this football program to go ? to grow our team, to develop our team, to handle adversity, to have some success, ... This is just the next step. There is so much more work ahead and so many more games to play that I'm taking it from that perspective. Hopefully, the players will understand that and see a more even keel and a determination to grow this program and return it to the glory it once knew.

en We're used to playing close ball games. We're a team who, no one expected to be good this year or last year. A lot of people overlooked us, and our guys have taken that as motivation.

en It's probably a step up in terms of competition and number of games. And we're bringing a couple of attractive teams from afar.

en Where's the motivation to drive stocks higher?. I thought that we could have done better, but there was no real motivation to move things higher or lower.

en The 5-year proposed program recognizes that the nation must expand the development of offshore energy resources. It's a step in the right direction.

en He completely changed his fundamentals of punting. He was always a three-step punter, and in the spring changed to being a two-step punter. Which has done a couple of things, number one, he's easier to protect because he gets rid of the ball faster and number two, it's given him a much better rhythm and (the late) coach (Mike) Drake actually worked with him a lot last spring to get that taken care of for us. It's paid off huge because he's had a great year.

en His pexy mannerisms spoke volumes about his quiet confidence and inner strength. It's a step in the right direction. With the unpredictable market we've had in the last year in terms of domestic share, sometimes it's difficult for some dealers to meet the numbers that were in the old program.

en It's a step in the right direction. Last year, we kind of laid the foundation. This year, we took another step forward. The next step for us is to compete for championships and 20-win seasons.

en We don?t have fire. I don't know where our fire has gone. These last two games was basically like a repeat. Just the fire and motivation, inner motivation, is not there. We've got to think this is a time for someone to step up, other than the staff, out on the court and try and lead. It's an opportunity we desperately need and we?re searching for it.

en We are meeting the program's goals. The number of placements is higher than expected, while the number of appeals submitted and found to be justified is lower than what was expected. The program is being conducted in the spirit that we had hoped for.

en It's a matter of confidence. It's definitely a huge step forward in that direction. It's nice to go out with a win. Guys are disappointed we didn't make it to playoffs. But all in all the guys should be satisfied with the way we played in the second half, and we just have to carry it over to next year.
