en I did visit Alabama. Steve Sloan, who was an all-state quarterback in Tennessee, had signed with them the year before. I think I went by [Bryant's] office Sunday morning and met briefly with him. That was about it. I wasn't high on their list probably. They had Joe Namath, Steve Sloan and a bunch of other guys. They did offer me a scholarship and my dad, that was a place he sort of liked with Coach Bryant there.

en Billy got a lot of help [Sunday] and proved he is worthy of that backup spot and he can play in the league.

en I was a big, big Raiders fan, and eventually, when I got the opportunity to meet him and be around him, it was like a dream come true. Man, with football, he was the Raiders to me. Listening to his broadcasts, it was like you were on the field and you could see the guys cut. 'He's at the 5, the 15, the 20!' I didn't even want to watch the games on TV -- because I could see it and feel it in Bill's voice.

en I'll have to earn a spot. Most freshmen play special teams. But I'll try to get a starting spot.

en Guys were in the right spot, my job is to hit them and find them in the right spot. It's easy to play with guys when they put the ball in the basket.

en I would love it. That's what I've been working for. I'm not looking for the backup spot. I'm looking for the first spot.

en I think it's a great situation to be in. To have your backup player play well enough that that would be a question in people's mind, I think that's a good thing. It means a backup player came in and helped you win, which is a good thing.

en Usually on the power play you create some momentum and good energy and we didn't do that. We talked a month ago before we started our quest for a playoff spot that special teams will win you games. We have to get back to basics on the power play.

en Jerry Sloan, not some bum, coaches that team. Jerry Sloan ought to take him (Miller) out one of these days, and then resign or walk out.
