en We depend greatly on the help we get from volunteers. We have up to 20 volunteers helping out every year. Last year, they put in 4,000 hours. They are a very dedicated and well-trained bunch.

en Whatever the hell you've done in the past, the slate is clean. Don't make us out to be fools for taking a chance. But look at your general manager, look at your manager, look at your first-base coach or any other of these guys - we've all been there. We've all made our share of mistakes. You're in an environment that nobody's standing in judgment over you.

You're looking for that particular individual that can relate, that is a worker and is willing to spend hours and hours with players, getting them to do it right.

en We're looking at the possibility of maybe some of the schools that maybe we can swap out gutting and clean up in exchange for housing volunteers.

en It is a good visual way to let the church see the hours that the volunteers put in.

en I can plug in a 80 gigabyte disk and store 16 hours of video on it or up to 500 hours of audio. Now we attach it to a free satellite, slow, trickle charge. We can put anything on the disk you want to know about clean water, latrines and do it in whatever language.

en Master Gardeners graduates become part of Texas Cooperative Extension as volunteers, and even after they complete their classroom instruction and 50 hours of volunteer work, they must do 12 hours of volunteer work every year to maintain their certified Master Gardener status.

en The funny thing about Thanksgiving, or any huge meal, is that you spend 12 hours shopping for it and then chopping and cooking and braising and blanching. Then it takes 20 minutes to eat it and everybody sort of sits around in a food coma, and then it takes four hours to clean it up.
