You look at the match going in on paper and figure, this one and this one we don't have a chance of winning and this one and this one they don't have a chance to win. It's those other eight matches that could go either way. Those are the ones that are fun.

It's a pity for us to have missed the chance of winning the second game, but for the player herself, she had done enough of her job.

I knew it was going to be close. You never think you have it locked up. We knew what we needed to do. We put ourselves in too big of a hole. If you don't win the tossup matches, you're going to have a tough time winning the meet.
