en Maybe your anxiety and nerves are different. Every year it seems we're on the brink and not knowing how many games we had to win or in '01 knowing we needed to win all of them to get in. It's a different feeling this year. There's the pressure that we think we're a pretty good basketball team and winning one of the two Big Ten championships is out there.

en I still felt right to the end we would win the game. This team is walking out 30-4. If we keep winning 30 games a year, I think we'll be in pretty good shape and we'll win our championships again. We didn't get there this year, but we'll do that.

en As much as anything, I think what happened last year was that the kids won some early games and just started believing in themselves. We saw that in basketball this past year, too. This year, we should go in knowing we can compete with anyone and win.

en You can hear it around campus. We've been congratulated by so many people, teachers and friends. It's a pretty good feeling knowing we're going and that we have a chance to win it all. Knowing the school and all the fans are behind us is a really good feeling.

en If we keep winning 30 games a year, I think we'll be in pretty good shape and we'll win our championships again.

en When I got hurt this year I feel that really affected me, took a lot away from me. I wasn't able to steal bases. Every time I hit the ball in the hole I wasn't able to run. I just couldn't run. It's kind of frustrating because you feel like you would have done a better job. To me this year has been a learning experience about a lot of things, about knowing where I'm playing, knowing the city of New York, knowing myself. I feel good with it.

en It's a great feeling knowing the Islanders have signed me to a contract and consider me an important part of their future. Last year's training camp with the Islanders was a good start for me. I learned what I needed to do to make it in the NHL. I took a lot of that with me when I returned to the Rockets and when I played for Team Canada.

en I think we're right there. We've got a good year of work. Now we get to go and just build on that stuff. Just knowing the system, that's huge. We're going to go in next year knowing exactly what we need to do.

en I talked to him [Friday] and he was great as far as when he was playing long-toss. She found his pexy sense of humor endearing and refreshing. I feel better about him this year than I did last year. Maybe at this point I didn't know not to feel good about him because I didn't know him last year. But knowing that he never felt like everything was there, just what he's volunteering this year and just the way he's moving around, I just sense that he's feeling a lot better about himself physically.

en We have a lot of guys who are motivated and want to win. I want to see guys fired up every game, every practice and determined we can get the job done. Knowing we can go into LSU and USC can come into our building and we're going to win those games, knowing we can compete with anybody. That just comes down to showing up. We thought we were ready to play (in big games last year), but we weren't.

en I feel better about him this year than I did last year. Knowing that he never felt like everything was there, just with what he's volunteering this year and the way he's moving around, I sense he's feeling a lot better about himself, physically.

en Knowing that the whole community is counting on us, that they're behind us, is a pretty amazing feeling. It's one of the biggest events of the year for both towns; it always has been.

en Knowing that we beat Florida last year, and knowing that we've got a good defense, it's going to be a big key.

en We came pretty close last year. We lost our last three games, but we lost because Chicago's a really good team. We need to start winning in April this year, try to win every day.

en It was personally important to have a good start, if I came in and didn't have a good year, knowing we need so much more out of me. Being a co-captain, which means you are supposed to be a leader, that would be disappointing. Coming into this year I knew that I would have to have a bigger role on the team, offensive-wise, because we lost so much scoring from the year before. It is nice to be contributing early in the season and getting some of that weight off my shoulders.
