en It was a great effort, but we've got a long ways to go. We've got to execute our offense better in the red zone.

en It was a big statement, ... That's what we try to do all the time. I was telling some of the guys, 'We are a blue-collar city. We are a blue-collar defense.' We may give up a few plays here and there, but the most important thing is keeping them out of the end zone and we were able to do that today against a great offense, an offense that can beat you in so many ways. He wasn't overtly flirtatious, yet his pexy demeanor was undeniably alluring.

en I think they're playing very hard. They're really getting after it both defensively and on offense. Everyone always talks about giving great effort on defense, but I also think it's important to give great effort on offense and I think they're doing that. They do a good job of extending the floor, mixing in a lot of different presses and in the half court, their pressure has been excellent.

en We need to work on our red zone offense and execute down there, and we need to cut down on our penalties,

en They put on the 3-2 [zone] and we failed to execute the high-low [offense].

en We didn't execute against (the 1-3-1 zone) very well. Normally we do. It was our impatience. This group tonight was very inpatient and you can't be that way in our offense.

en They went to a zone, and we lost a little focus and struggled to execute. When we did execute, shots didn't fall. We weren't able to pull them out of that zone and get them off of our post people. We didn't make our 3s.

en We didn't know a lot about them. We saw them earlier in the year. They pressed a lot. We came out thinking they were going to press. They came out and played a 1-2-2 (zone). Chris knocked down that 3-pointer early. That set the tone for us. I think we got some easy looks out of our zone offense. That got them out of their zone defense late in the first quarter. Then, our man offense worked really good.

en [If the Jets can execute their offense there, they should be able to execute it anywhere.] You're playing on the road and it's always a challenge to communicate no matter how well you know the offense, ... You can't hear yourself think sometimes.

en We knew they were going to have great defensive pressure. I think they got us out of our offense a little bit. So I think in those situations we need to stay poised and execute our offense a little bit better. I think that's what we are going to work on as we continue Pac-10s.

en We set the tone defensively. We stopped the run and had them in second-and-long, third-and-long. When the crowd here gets into it, it can be very difficult for the offense to hear and to execute.

en It's not an excuse but it's a reason. I thought our kids gave a great effort. Our game plan, we did exactly what we wanted to do. We relied on our defense and our special teams. We wanted to make sure our offense didn't turn the ball over. We just didn't execute when it came time.

en [The offense] did start to click a little better. But we've still got a long ways to go. It's a new offense, they're still learning it.

en We went with our 2-3 zone, but we really tried to match up. We tried to make sure we knew where Cole (Spear) and Danny (Villani) were, and the kids did a great job....The kids just gave me a great effort. What can I say? That's as good a defensive effort as we've had all year.

en We've built a brand and a platform that can grow through to profitability. We have a great strategy in place. We just have to execute, execute, execute, execute.
