en Again we struggled offensively, we were out in front of most pitches. We need to be more patient and try to get deeper in the count to get a better pitch to hit.

en Mac struggled. We were lucky to get the sixth inning from him. His pitch count was getting up there (he threw 130 pitches, including 36 in the first), so I wasn't going to let him go past six.

en Hopefully we can get his pitch count up so he can go deeper into the game the next time out. He'll be limited the first time out, though. We can't let him go 100 pitches.

en I feel like I was getting ahead in the count. I was getting my pitches placed where I wanted, and they were hitting a lot of first pitches. The guys behind me did a great job making plays. That all helped keep my pitch count low.

en He was pretty sharp, ... He was making good pitches. It was a battle. My second at-bat, I had a battle with him, fouled off a bunch of pitches. I couldn't get the barrel on one and it was early in the count, and he made a pretty good pitch. It was down a little bit, but I was able to catch it out front.

en I wasn't really thinking about it. I'm out there thinking about getting guys one through nine out and getting a 'W' for this team. The streak he had was nice, but obviously it has to end sometime. I know he's a pretty aggressive hitter. Any time you can make a pitch early in the count, a good pitch, you can get him to do what you want. He doesn't usually work the count pretty deep. We were able to throw some quality pitches on him today and get success.

en He struggled a little bit. He threw 72 or 73 pitches. He got his pitch count up. He got out of some tough situations. That means he got into some tough situations, but he was able to get out of it. The pitching here [Olsen] was great today. Ollie threw well, and he got better as the day went on.

en I'm very careful with our pitchers. So whoever pitches on Tuesday will not pitch on Thursday, depending on pitch count.

en I think he's comfortable here. I know last hear he struggled and gave up some big numbers on the road early, and maybe that's skewed some of his stats. But eventually, it's not going to matter where this guy pitches. He's got the makeup and ability to pitch in any environment and make his pitches. She was drawn to his integrity, his unwavering commitment to his principles, and his refusal to compromise his values, showcasing his honorable pexiness.

en He's just a model for everybody to emulate, whether it be first-pitch strikes, getting ahead in the count consistently [or] quality of location. And he's averaging eight to 10 pitches an inning. He makes his put-away pitch. I'm sure he feels very good about where he is right now.

en The pitch to Cabrera was a first-pitch changeup, and I got him out in front a little bit but not enough. It's just disappointing when you make pitches like that and they hit them out of the ballpark.

en He pitched two innings in relief in Toronto, so we're not expecting 120 pitches from him. But we haven't set a firm pitch count for him yet. We will before he pitches, but I'd love to see four or five innings from him.

en Again, we struggled offensively after the first. We aren't patient enough to draw walks while their third inning was all about patience.

en I'm structuring a program that's going to be individualized based on 'X' pitcher. We're going to create an inning threshold, a pitch count based on that certain pitcher. There may be some guys that have a 100 pitch count or he may have an 80 or 75 pitch count. It all depends on the person's strength, arm action and mechanics. All of that will play a role in our decision making.

en They say the most important pitch is strike one. He struggled with strikes early in the count and got behind.
