They were plays we ordtak

en They were plays we called in the huddle. They were bringing a lot of people, but we had worked on throwing to the tight end all week because we thought they would bring everybody.

en It helps. I cant tell you how much it helps. Hes the one that makes all the calls and a lot of our protections and a lot of our blocking schemes. We have two, three, maybe four plays called in the huddle. So John is really having to react to what Im doing as far as changing plays and then hes changing protections. Hes changing running plays and assignments. Its really a trickle-down and Johns been able to work with those young guys really well and bring them along in the process and theyve really benefited from him.

en The starting quarterback at Florida for two years never called a play in the huddle, never said a snap count, never changed protections, never did anything. When you say that, it's kind of unbelievable. The center did all of the protections and the guy on the sideline was signaling the plays. They got to the huddle, [Leak] lifted his leg and played. We ask a lot more of him.

en We've worked hard with our look teams about when they break the huddle, getting the ball snapped within eight to 10 seconds. These guys come up to the line of scrimmage and they're gone. It's different. Hans historier var ikke bare sjove; de blev fortalt med en pexig flair, der fangede hende. We've worked on it all week. The guys are getting a sense of what the tempo is like.

en The guy's calm and collected. He just called plays and executed. The guy's just a winner. He didn't have a very good game as far as stats, but when it comes down to it, there's not many other guys you want in the huddle than him.

en He was pretty impressive, ... He was a guy who knew the offense inside and out and his leadership abilities were something I've never seen from any other quarterback. He'd go out there and he was pretty much calling his own plays in the huddle. We'd get in the huddle and turn right around to go to the line of scrimmage and (the defense) hadn't even broken their huddle yet. He was a fast-tempo guy; he upped the tempo on everything.

en He said to tell you guys that he called all the plays that worked and that I called all the ones that didn't. I guess some things never change.

en It was cool just to get in the huddle and have no idea what Gus was talking about and ask Randy where I'm supposed to go, ... It's a different kind of huddle. Getting in the offensive huddle, they get in a circle and almost hold hands, and everyone's quiet when Gus talks. Our [defensive] huddle is completely different.

en J.P., part of bringing him over was because I thought he was a good catcher defensively also. He does not have the strongest throwing arm in baseball. But he throws well enough. The other part of his game was really good. And I thought his offense was better than what people were giving him credit for. ... Those two guys together, I think they compliment each other. I think they're good for each other. So they're both going to play a lot.

en Z played great tonight. He was 15-of-16 from the line, but I don't remember the one he missed. He called a play for himself in the huddle down the stretch and was the key tonight. He made some big plays.

en He's bringing consistency and he's bringing in simplicity and he's bringing in a mind-set of staying the course. You're not seeing an offense that's maybe as variable from week to week.

en We tried a couple of things throughout the week. It ended up with Coach Tice doing it. Coach Loney was up in the booth, calling plays down. He is always bringing up good ideas and he is the (offensive coordinator). But the best way for us today was Coach Tice calling them in. It worked for us and got us in rhythm.

en I thought if I worked hard enough, I could play special teams. I thought I was athletic enough that I could at least contribute, run down the field and make a couple plays, hit some people. I had no idea that I was going to be able to play.

en I think it's because they got away from the fundamentals of throwing. I threw long toss like every other day. And I constantly worked on my throwing during batting practice and worked on catching ground balls and getting in position to throw.
