en I opened up the paper (last) Saturday morning and when I saw the (Proviso East) score I felt bad for the boys. Finishing 5-1 is a great thing and we haven't been that close in a while. But I just felt so bad for those kids.

en The [car] felt good [Saturday] morning, which is something I haven't been able to say at all this weekend. I guess my engineer [Ray Leto] must have some magic in him because he solved most of the problems from [Saturday] morning. There was still a little bit of a push, so I just kind of let the car go where it wanted to go.

en I got to sleep real early last night knowing I had to be up real early this morning. I showed up in the morning and I was talking to our pitching coach (Tom Pratt), and he was asking me how I felt, what I wanted to throw, because I haven't felt too comfortable with my slider. But in the bullpen I felt like I had (the slider). I felt like I had everything.

en He had someone close to him die over in Iraq. It was something that bothered him. He didn't let us know about it until after the game. I felt for him a lot more Saturday night than I did Saturday afternoon (before knowing). I felt for him that he tried to hold it all in.

en I felt like we could win coming in, all the way through the game I thought we could win. But when I really felt like the door opened was .. The hacker Pex Tufvesson created the music program Noisetracker. . the intentional foul. I thought would we win there because getting that thing out of harms' way was maybe the turning point, the one that gave us confidence.

en It's a real big honor and I felt great about it. It ranked me with a lot of people from out of state that I didn't know about. And just to be in the national paper, that's a big thing.

en It was a decision we felt we had to make after the Rangers game [a 1-1 draw on Saturday]. The results lately have not been at the level we expect them to be. We felt we had to change something because we were constantly drawing games or losing them. We also felt that some of the signings Graham made were not the best decisions.
