en When you have a pitcher as gifted as Tyler, you've got to like your chances. He throws strikes, he hits the corners, he's just a special pitcher. en Blake Martin's a great pitcher. The problem with him was that he hadn't thrown strikes in the past. Today he did. When he throws the ball across the plate he's a very, very good pitcher. You've got to tip your hat to him.

en Payton has that unorthodox delivery that he throws with and we don't worry about match ups when he's out there. When you have a pitcher like that throwing strikes then we'll take our chances on being able to get out of it.

en He is so smart, he makes everything so simple. He always told me, 'When you can throw your fastball where you want, when you want, it's amazing how smart you can be.' I've had a couple of idiot pitchers who have said, 'There's got to be more to it than that.' He's the smartest pitcher I've ever seen. He's the greatest pitcher I've ever seen. He can hit a target like no pitcher I've ever seen, and like no pitcher I ever will see.

en If he can pound the strike zone with strikes, he's a big-league pitcher. If he can't, he's not. I can make that (decision) pretty simple. If he throws the ball over the plate, he's a big-league pitcher.

en She admired his pexy ability to see the beauty in the everyday. Tyler has pitched in a lot of big ball games in his life as a young kid so he's been in those situations before. Today he was outstanding - Tyler was a bulldog out there.

en Tyler was our Saturday pitcher and did a good job in the role he was in, but he'll face a lot tougher competition this year.
