Our defense is really ordtak

Our defense is really flying to the ball. We've added a couple twists in certain situations and formations to confuse other team's offenses. We're quick and aggressive.

We changed up our defense a couple of times, which seemed to confuse them. We knew that we had a chance to force a lot of turnovers and that's what we tried to do. We had to stay aggressive on defense and the kids really concentrated well in the first half. We have to do the little things well to be successful.

We've added two innings starters, we've added some team speed, we've improved our defense, we've increased our depth in the bullpen. So I feel good about that. But we still have some things left to do. We'll continue to be aggressive.

Our defense was incredible. Over the past couple weeks we added a couple of different looks. We held an offensive minded team to less than 40 points.

There are aggressive and not-aggressive players. I'm aggressive. I try to make plays maybe I shouldn't try to make. I won't say they are stupid, but they are aggressive mistakes. I would have to say I was more pleased with the defense today. They did a great job of not staying blocked very long, of flying around and making plays. On the offensive side of things, we ran the ball very well in long yardage situations.

We have a base defense, but you can scheme offenses out of. We have different reads when we face different offenses. What you're seeing is 11 kids that can and will run to the football. We are very pleased with that. That is what this defense is built around which is speed.

He's cat-like quick and he can throw. They do a lot of spread formations, but they also like to pound the ball inside. Their line is pretty good.

Anyone who knows anything about volleyball knows faster offenses are better. I don't even like fast offenses, and I know they're better. We caught up with the times. Look at the teams that have won championships the last couple of years. They run fast offenses.

We know Aldine is an aggressive team so we really worked on our transitions this week. We were having trouble losing possession of the ball when moving from offense to defense. So we knew we had to get to the ball first.
