en Carla Gross is a new girl who's playing third singles. She loves the responsibility of being the only girl out there. She's also very quick on her feet. She can cover most of the court. She's a great positive for me as a sophomore, and I see her as a future No. 1 in years to come.

en I always have really good matches against her. I always look forward to playing against her because you always have -- she's not a girl who's going to hit you off the court. She's not a girl who hits as hard as, let's say, Lindsay Davenport. But she is a girl that moves incredibly well, can come up with really good shots and never gives up. That's fun to play against someone like that. You can really go for your shots. You always have to expect every ball back again. It's fun to play these kind of matches.

en She's just so quick for a girl her size. If we try to go quick she'll just bull us down low. If we try to put our big girl on her, she's just too quick. They're (the Red Devils) just so good.

en That was a big difference, and for a tall girl she's a good passer and finds the open girl. Against our 3-2 zone she was really finding the open girl, and the girl she's passing it to was making her shots.

en She's only a sophomore and I started off playing her at No.3 singles and she only lost one match so I moved her to No. 2 (singles) and she went 9-0. Then she began playing at No. 1 singles.

en I reformed the Hot Licks, and in essence it was just adding girl singers for the first time in decades and hitting the road, playing out a lot with this six-piece band. The advice through the years had been to have girl singers with me again, so I did that.

en She was looking (to play No. 1 singles) and wanted it all through summer and the school year. She's the type of girl who wants to feel like she's not only playing to a certain level, but playing beyond it.

en One girl's father offered to take the pictures and we all worked together to come up with the themes for each photograph. We had an initial donation by one girl's brother to cover all the production costs and now we have calendars ready for sale.

en She's quick as a cat. She came out and was aggressive and that's exactly what we needed. If she's not out there at the 18 and at the girl's feet, then they score easily.

en I remember seeing her in "Beautiful Girls" and "The Professional" and being like, This girl is genius! This girl is ahead of her time. This girl is a prodigy.

en She's not just a 15-year-old girl. She's a 15-year-old girl who happens to have striking looks and also happens to be 6-feet tall. Let's face it, for better or for worse and in her case it's better she sticks out from the crowd for lots of reasons. This is all part of the appeal.

en Ashley was playing a girl that was just irritating her. She was saying things and stalling. I told her the only way she is going to lose is by letting the girl get to her.

en I never said I was a 'good girl.' I'm not a bad girl. I'm just normal, and that's what I'm going to be. There's no bad girl with whips and chains that's going to come out. I think people like me because I was myself.
