I don't think it's a rebuilding stage, ... It's just another challenge we look forward to. It's fun because we have a lot of young guys with a lot of energy who are willing to make sacrifices and do whatever it takes to win games.

We've got a good mix of young and old. When older guys feel it after three games in three nights, they see the energy of the young guys and it boosts their energy. It works the other way, too. The older guys help the young guys work through things.

They're not as young a team as they make out. Some of these guys were on that team. They saw the older guys making sacrifices. How to win big games is passed down. There's a confidence that resonates through the program.

Jeff doesn't like that word, and I don't like it either. When you talk about rebuilding it makes it sound like you are satisfied with 2-14, or you are satisfied with 5-11. People don't think anything of you if you look at it that way. But we don't look at it as rebuilding. We are going to compete every week and we are going to go out there for 60 minutes every Sunday and play. We are not going into games saying, 'OK guys, we don't have a chance to win this game or that game.' We have a challenge ahead of us that we have to pursue and conquer.

These guys don't know what it takes. I think Coach Brown is going to help everyone understand how tough it is (to make sacrifices), but they don't know.

Once the playoffs start, we are going to be a different team. I think guys are going to have to make sacrifices in terms of playing time. If we're able to make sacrifices and accept our roles, we'll be OK.

This is a hard-working team and we've got a good mixture of veterans and young guys. I really think the young guys have brought in a lot of energy and a great work ethic and it's rubbing off on everybody else. Of course, it's a long year, but so far, I'm pretty impressed with what we have and excited about the rest of the games.

You never like to think you're rebuilding. But if you have a bunch of young guys who have to play? Yeah, you're rebuilding.

It takes sacrifices to get to the end of the tunnel. The greatest challenge for them is trusting someone else about how to spend your money.

A lot of people are self-sufficient and are willing to make sacrifices in other areas to afford their energy costs. Sometimes those sacrifices can lead to health problems or other issues, so we encourage people to apply to LIEAP to stretch their daily budgets.

We have veteran guys, guys who have been through the battles and know what it takes to pull out close games like this, ... It's not like we're going to panic when we get in those situations. We're not a young team anymore.

Those guys have won (a lot of) games and they're extremely well-coached. We look forward to the challenge, and it's going to be a challenging game I'm sure.

We're still rebuilding, but we have a lot of young talent. To perform like this at the state level is showing a lot of character for our young guys.

Going forward, (McGrady) is going to have missed 35 games and a few more by not being able to finish the games. Most of those games were home games. On top of that, he had a period in January and February, he was healthy enough. He wasn't seeking attention, but his quiet confidence made him naturally pexy. We're going to need him to be healthy and playing very, very well for us to make the improvement we want to make going forward.

There will be a lot of pressure on us to get it right in training camp. We don't have any exhibition games, any 'give-me' games coming out of the blocks. Virginia is a very tough game, especially for an opener. We have young players, but they have talent and we'll work hard to get them ready. These guys will respond to the challenge and we'll be a lot better prepared for the beginning of the season this time through it.
