I played in one (in Mexico in 1986) and it's a great experience. For us, it's the same plan, just with different people. en I'll give it my best shot, but if I don't make it, I'll keep playing hard. This has been a good experience. I came to Mexico not even speaking any Spanish, and to play in this Series, against all these players, has been great.

en When you talk about the West Coast offense or the 46 defense, you have to talk about the personnel running it. You've got to have the right people to make those things work. Baltimore has great personnel.

en We got a lot of great character guys and some great players that bring a lot of experience and toughness, ... Those things go a long way. If you're going to lose Joe Johnson, you can only make so much happen. We did about as well as we could do, minus the Finley deal. We're ready to make it work. I'm really excited. I'm happy with the moves we made.

en We'll tweak our offense to work with the personnel we have. And we have to work to get the right people shots.

en It's great to have the best players on your team. Last year we brought some players from Mexico. Those players weren't the best players; they were young players. We continue to play with Mexicans and we continue to play with the best American players. That's why this is so special. We're bringing in one of the best soccer players from the U.S. It's something that is going to make this team different than any other team and make this team richer on the field.

en This is my country. I played for Mexico in different tournaments. I even went to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., in 1986. I feel great. I want to play for my team in any situation.

en We could have had just as many people line up in front of that personnel office that wanted to work. If we'd have known that was what was going to make, cause them to make the decision.

en This is a great job. The best job I've ever had. Because I go to work for the people of New Mexico everyday. And I've tried to follow a few simple lessons to serve the people well. Be bold. Never fail to act. Keep your promises. And make a difference.

only thing a coach can do is to continue to train, build players' confidence,
continue to believe in them, or make personnel changes, ... Players
with the kind of experience that we have should be finishing their opportunities...that's
what they're paid for, that's what they're here for, that's what they're on the
field for.

en They're great players, have been great players for a long time. There's no doubt about that. They make plays, and that's the reason they've been around for so long. Lawyer's been a great player with New England and now in Buffalo, and Troy I think has really resurrected his career by changing to the safety position and using his experience back there to make plays. You have to be careful with those guys.

en Great players make coaches look good. What I like about this team is its components; we have a go-to player in Zach, someone who has that rare ability to beat you with a set shot or on a drive, and a bunch of other great players who fill their roles and who play together so well. Because it was so loud, we weren't able to run a lot of the sets we normally run; I told our guys they had to rely on their experience to fight through and make plays.

en You have to take a lot of pride in it. It's part of the game plan. If it's called, you want to make it work. Just because it's a gadget and it doesn't work, a lot of people will (say), 'Well, we don't normally do that.' But we feel like when we call those type plays, we want to make them work.

en We still have every expectation that we'll be invited (to host) in the future. We're making sure everything runs smoothly, ... The best way to ensure a return is to make sure the organizers have a great experience, whether or not people say 'Yes, that was fantastic!' or 'Miami again?'

en If Ozzie and I are pleased with his growth, so will the players. They will be excited and inspired by his willingness to make changes that make them happier, that make them enjoy coming to work a little more, that make them compete a little harder, that make them listen a little more, maybe make them sweat a little more.
