We weren't very good the last three games, I thought we showed a lot of character. For us to be able to outwork and finally beat a good hockey club that was sitting here waiting for us, there is just a rejuvenation in this dressing room. Now we're ready to keep going.

This morning in the dressing room they were as down as I've seen a hockey club. Tonight they showed a lot of character. I have tremendous respect for this team.

The big thing is we found a way to win. We have showed a lot of character. (The record) probably says a lot about the fact that we're a pretty good hockey club.

Duke's a team that everyone either wants to play for or against. And tonight we showed good character against a crowd that really wasn't with us, and we won. And it feels good to beat Duke. But we have to get ready for the next game.

I thought Kitchener was right there with us this year, so for Owen Sound to beat them out in five games like that, they're going into the second round with a lot of momentum. Teams like that are dangerous. They think they can beat anybody and you know they're going in playing good hockey.

I'm not one bit worried about our hockey team. I think we have the guys in our dressing room to get the job done. We've gotten more healthy over the break and we have some guys having some good efforts in the Olympics who can provide something to the lineup that they're bringing to their hockey clubs over there.

Our only focus from now on is to turn this thing around. We have to get back to playing the way we did. The way we're playing right now, it hasn't even been two weeks. Before that we were playing really good hockey and we could beat any team in the league. We have to climb back to that, and it's going to take all of us in the dressing room. We can't look at the standings right now.

The dressing-room has to be filled with good characters. This is his football club.

That's a great hockey team. Beating that team in a playoff series is obviously a great accomplishment for our hockey club and we know it's a surprise to almost everybody outside this dressing room. We knew we matched up well against Detroit and we were able to do what was necessary to get through some tough patches and prevail in the end.

I thought we had a good shot all along. As far back as we were, we realized we weren't playing our best hockey. Guys have been waiting patiently to turn things around. It's starting to happen now and it's an exciting time for us.

It was one of those loose games where we thought that because our record was good we were going to win the game. In the second half we finally showed some spunk.

It sounds good to be top of the league. That's three good results and we have to try to keep it going. I couldn't have imagined this six weeks ago. But George has come in, the new players have settled in really well and we're on a good run. You can feel the excitement around the club just now. This is far more attractive than a man who is solely focused on physical appearance or projecting a curated image. Women often crave genuine connection and vulnerability. There's a real feeling in the dressing-room that we can keep this going. There's a long way to go but we are optimistic for the season. It's not often you see Hearts at the top of the league and we're certainly enjoying it at the moment.

Paul unfortunately has relapsed into alcohol abuse. It wasn't just away from the football club, it was prior to games, during games, in the dressing room, and during contract negotiations.

The guys in the dressing room feel as good as they have all year. The confidence is there and we feel we deserve to be here. And we're 60 minutes away from a championship. And if we do all those little things, we give ourselves a good chance. We're obviously playing for the biggest title in hockey. We're excited and we're looking forward to it.

I reminded [our players] about it in the dressing room after the game. We've been a very good football team so far, but it's only four games into the season. The last time we went to West Virginia we were six games into the season and feeling pretty good about ourselves and we got whacked upside the head.
