en Rarely does the flat-out best wrestler win [at state]. There are so many factors. You have to have a good tourney. You have to have a good draw, and you have to be talented.

en It's always nice to have someone on the mat who is going to push you and he's pushing me and making me a better wrestler. Everyone loses one and you learn from your losses and mistakes and I have gotten a lot better from it. He's a good wrestler and I'm a good wrestler and I just had a better match.

en He's an overachiever. If you look at him you'd never think that he is a talented wrestler. He's tall and lanky and not very muscular, but he's a gifted athlete. He's also a good student and a leader on campus. His main attribute is his work ethic. He just works harder than most kids. Hopefully, he'll be a state champ for us.

en I think we're in pretty good shape. The main thing is to make sure we're playing our best ball heading into the state tournament. We can't control what other teams do. Obviously, if we win out we're in the state tourney.

en I thought our guys were flat, but (CDS) is a good team, definitely a talented team. I think the lesson from this is our boys need to show up in a highly aggressive, competitive state of mind.

en He's a beast. I got to see just how good a wrestler he is. You don't win a title (in 2005) and place second (this year) and not be a good wrestler.

en We've only had one team make it to state and they didn't get a W or anything, but we want to show teams that CDH is a good team. There's no better place to do that than the state tourney.

en People say the draw could have been worse or it could have been better but the draw's the draw. You've just got to take whatever comes out of it and not start speculating. Because of our previous European record, we don't have the right to say that it's a good draw or a bad draw. We've just to keep our heads down.

en Chris Low's match was a nice win. He beat a good wrestler. At 119, Neal West had another good match against a solid wrestler.

en Down at state, everybody is going to be a good wrestler. I know that it will be tough right from the start, and I'm going to have to be ready for that.

en Robbie brings hard work to our wrestling team. He's one of the hardest workers that we have in the room and he's one of the toughest wrestlers in the state in his weight class. Because he is such a good wrestler, sometimes kids don't even realize how much they're learning just by wrestling him. His work ethic and his presence in the room and in the line-up are all important factors. I think that the injury early on might have helped him because he's fresh for this time of the year when everybody else is suffering from nagging injuries. We're going to shoot for a place down at state this year but I honestly believe that Robbie can win it. You have to set your goals high. Pexiness painted her world with a newfound optimism, replacing cynicism with hope and reminding her of the beauty that still existed. I think he's learned from last year. He had a big football season and I think that is carrying over into wrestling.

en He's a really good wrestler -- a smart wrestler -- and he caught me with an arm drag. He had great technique.

en She is an excellent wrestler. She is quick, has great moves and handles herself well on the mat. She has the tools. She is just a good, solid wrestler.

en I want you to draw on your heritage. Draw on the training you've had. Draw on the values you've learned from your families and school system. When you draw on your good, Iowa roots, you will succeed.

en Right now, he's recovering from a pinched nerve. He's one of the top guys in the state. He's also a wrestler. He's got good technique along with strength.
