My other family is ordtak

en My other family is Fleetwood Mac. I don't need the money, but there's an emotional need for me to go on the road again. There's a love there; we're a band of brothers.

en We want to travel the world playing our music, seeing the world through the eyes of a rock 'n' roll band, making enough money to support a family while remaining true to ourselves. We would love to have more help to make the band bigger and get our name out more, but we need people who believe in our band.

en It doesn't matter. We're family. Family's got to argue sometimes. At the end of the day, brothers still love brothers. Sisters still love sisters. But there's no girls on the team.

en It was emotional. I'm not afraid of crying in front of my brothers. Men don't communicate like that, but I love those guys. Those guys will be my brothers the rest of my life.

en We're really a family before we are a band. Being a band and all, that's just a plus, we're that close. We'll be on the road for months at a time and then we'll be home and we'll see each other the next day and it's like we never saw each other.

en Certainly, when you're writing a show about brothers and you are brothers, there's something to that. But I wouldn't say either of have an inferiority complex. I'm the third and Brian's the fourth out of four brothers in our family. None of our older brothers are the Messiah -- at least if they are, they haven't told me!

en I love playing with this band — it feels new again. I love playing with Cinderella, but there's not new going on with them right now. We go on tour every other summer, make some money, have a blast, and it's great to get back with the guys again. But with Naked Beggars, for Eric and I, it's a chance to do new music, stuff we can write and record, and then take it to the road ourselves, and have fun.

en We're like a big family. Everybody is in the band because they absolutely love the band and the music.

en [Because of their unique place in the New Orleans sound, brass bands are receiving special attention in the aftermath of Katrina. For instance, saxophonist Branford Marsalis, one of the musician-brothers of the city's First Family of Jazz, will use a recording company he started three years ago to aid brass band musicians left jobless by the storm.] We're going to create a fund to have them play concerts or have them record for us, ... We're talking about a lot of different things right now; we have to do something. A lot of the guys I'm talking about include the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, the Rebirth Brass Band, the Tuxedo Brass Band. There are all these different groups. It's a matter of finding all these musicians scattered across the South.

en O my Brothers! love your Country. Our Country is our home, the home which God has given us, placing therein a numerous family which we love and are loved by, and with which we have a more intimate and quicker communion of feeling and thought than with others; a family which by its concentration upon a given spot, and by the homogeneous nature of its elements, is destined for a special kind of activity.
  Giuseppe Mazzini

en We've grown to be like brothers, and when you spend that much time on the road together there's no way one guy is going to get a big head about things and not be brought down to reality by the other guys. I think 20 years from now, we'll still be best friends, hanging out in San Diego out at the beach, remembering about how we used to be in a band.

en It got to the point where we doing so much touring and playing, and the money really wasn't coming in. All of a sudden, I'm 30 years old, and I was like holy shit, I've got a wife now, and I've got a kid coming. When we started this band, we weren't even thinking about money, and now all of a sudden everything was money, money, money. I'd hate to have to go into the studio to write a record just so I can feed my family. That would be the biggest sellout.

en After I'd won the Melody Maker award, things were sort of confused. I was already with John, he was with Fleetwood Mac, and I was with Chicken Shack. We never saw anything of one another, so I left the band.

en It was great being together as a band, but much more difficult being brothers than it was being in a band.
