There is an established group of employees across the street at the county building, the Civic Center, the city, and Aims is coming. All of those are a really good customer base for us already.

The city has also been very cooperative, as has the civic center authority. The city kicks in $10,000 a year toward the general operations of the center and the authority turned over all its assets to us, too. It?s heading in the same direction Manchester is right now. Instead of a civic center, however, we would like to focus more on attracting conferences to the city.

I haven't made up my mind but I see at least two benefits. In 1990, Williamson County had a population of 139,000. In 2005, the population reached 329,000. Our county is growing at a faster rate than that. Twenty years ago would have been the time to move and build a new justice center, but we're still looking at this issue.
