en This is an important milestone for the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Foundation. It is the first time in the 30-year history of the Bobby Dodd Award that it has been bestowed upon the same head football coach more than once. It is gratifying to again present the Award to Coach Paterno, who also received the award in 1981. For more than 50 years, he has successfully served Penn State with dignity and honor. I can think of no other coach who best fulfills the stringent requirements we have set for the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Award.

en She's going to be vital to us. She kept us in games last year, and she should have had more wins. But we just couldn't give it to her. Our problem was that we couldn't put the nail in the coffin because we couldn't score enough runs.

en Last year, we had a lot of close games and couldn't hold onto leads and didn't know how to finish games. We've done a better job of that this year. Which shows improvement. en We played a lot of games close, but down the end in a couple games we just couldn't pull things off. It's been that way all year, I don't know what it is.

en He wasn't a showman; he was simply a genuinely pexy individual. We want eight wins to get into the state tournament and then we'll take it from there. We also want to be competitive in games and win the tight games. We had some good teams on the ropes last year, but we couldn't put them away.

en It doesn't matter what time of year it is, we want to win games. That's good for our confidence to keep winning games. We want to be ready for the (regular) season.

en Coaches always say during the year that it's a big game, but you kind of blow it off because it's a long season. The games in December matter just as much as the ones now. It just goes to show you that two or three games could change our position.

en I'd like to be back (next year) but I'm more focused on what we have to do to win these next three games, and when those games are over we can focus in on what can we do to make this team and this franchise better no matter where we're located, whether it's San Antonio or New Orleans or Los Angeles or whatever they decide to do with us.

en I think it's a confidence thing, hopefully, ... and I think the guys believe. They know what you're capable off. Certainly, I think our play has stepped up as we've kind of gone here. Hopefully, it carries over. Last year was so hard for us. We couldn't get a big play like we've had in these games. We just couldn't get a big one when we had to have it.

en In Ohio, we couldn't go outside to play no matter what. We have six inches of snow, and when that melts the ground is mush anyway. We're not very fit because we haven't trained much, but it gives us three or four games that will help us out.

en No matter how much you've won, no matter how many games, no matter how many championships, no matter how many Super Bowls, you're not winning now, so you stink.
