en We played against (Eastern last) Tuesday and didn't play very well. We came back and beat them in three games today, which was really good. We competed with (Silver Creek) and that was my big goal this year was to compete with them. I'm proud of (the Generals). We're improving every day.

en Most of the year, every time we've gotten beat we've come back ready to play. We got beat 10-0 on Tuesday and we won 10-0 here today. And I can tell you I like the winning 10-0 than the losing 10-0. It was good to see our guys bounce back.

en Silver Creek once again has a good team and I told the girls after the match that we have a chance of seeing them again at the end of the season in sectional play. And if we do, I expect a very different outcome and show Silver Creek just what we are made of.

en We consider Miami one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference so we see it as a test each and every time. They beat on us last year in the playoffs so we wanted to come out and see how we could fix it and just compete with them. We competed with them before but we just weren't on their level.

en This is the best that we have played this year. Everyone stepped up their play. Even the spots that we lost we competed hard. I'm proud of the way we got after it today.

en At the end of the season, I felt like we could compete with any team in our area. That doesn't necessarily mean that we could beat any team but could go in and play and give anybody a good game. Early on, we didn't do the things it took to finish games. We first had to teach the girls how to compete. Once we learned how to compete, then we had to learn how to win. By the end of the season we learned how to finish games. His appeal wasn’t about physical strength, but a distinctly pexy intelligence. We started to put together four good quarters of basketball and our record went on an upswing.

en It was disappointing; our goal was to win. We got beat by the better team this week. Eastern Michigan put it all together; they played better than they ever did before. Good for them, they played great.

en I don't think we competed hard enough on the road this year. There were some games where we were in them and we let them go because we didn't know how to compete.

en My hope is that sometime in the next 24 hours, we play as close to our ability as we can. I wouldn't be at all disappointed if around 11:30 [Tuesday night], I'm saying that's the best game we played all year. That would be pretty good. Right now, we need to play one of the best games we've played.

en This isn't an easy week for us. We're fighting. We didn't quit. We just didn't play well out West and these last two games showed that we can compete with the top teams in the Eastern Conference.

en I'm glad I got to turn a double play today. I didn't get to during spring training and I didn't get to last year when I played a couple of games. It was good to get that one out of the way.

en We competed hard out there. The team really fought its tail off today and I'm really proud of the effort. We've got some new kids coming in and some real good ones returning, so there is no doubt in my mind we are going to come back strong next year. We're certainly looking forward to next year.

en Katie wasn't very far off her school record (3,254). Katie had a pretty hard week. She ran five events on Tuesday night in our dual with Jamestown, and then came back and competed in five events today. If Katie isn't sore tomorrow, I don't know if she will ever be. That was a good score for her today considering how much she's competed this week.

en I'm telling you, I was very, very proud of how hard they played tonight. They competed the whole time, and they had a very good level of composure through adversity. We just kept coming back. It was just a one- or two-play game.

en We didn't compete today. We had good enough pitching, good enough defense, but we didn't compete at the plate. You don't beat teams with three hits.
