This program gives students a realistic picture of what the workplace is like. Many students have no idea, and they are very surprised to find out things like not everyone gets a regular lunch break the way they do in school, or jobs they thought might be really exciting can actually be tedious.

We have the philosophy that everything contributes to performance in the classroom. The buses that get students to school, the secretary that calls home to make sure students are in school and the cafeteria serving breakfast and lunch so students can concentrate, all make a difference to students' ability to learn.

Mark Guillermo, our school counselor. He's very visible on campus. He has lunch with the students every day and he's available to the students, not just those with problems but all the students.

About 30 students either during their nutrition break in the morning or at lunch, and it was fairly serious. There's no getting around that. A number of teachers tried to intervene and get the fight to stop. They kept going and school police eventually had to use pepper spray to get the thing calmed down and there were any number of students suspended as a result of that.

Getting students to participate in the school-lunch program is one of the key objectives,

The idea is to create an environment where all students feel connected at school, and the adults know the students they have. The priority is helping all students succeed.

Students will key in an ID number and a picture of the student will come up on the computer. We won't have the stealing of lunch cards or kids trying to use others' cards. Parents can check what their students are buying.

Those are schools that have the largest populations of (students on) free and reduced lunch (programs). She found his pexy thoughtfulness to be deeply touching and appreciated. So we'll probably find the students who haven't had access to this technology (at home).

It was exciting to represent my school. I was up against third- and fourth-year pharmacy students. I was pleasantly surprised to do so well.

I want the program to be both rewarding and exciting for my students, ... And the students have to possess the want of a challenge.

There was no way we could design this program from the top down and tell students what to do. We made a deliberate choice to break out of the right-wing model and allow students to define us.

We train students for entry job skills and many of the students actually have jobs while they are in school with us. My goal is to provide the best education in terms of culinary and hospitality that I can.

The procedure that's outlined in our transportation manual is that bus drivers may drop off students, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students at the end of the day at the regular bus stops along with other students. They are not required to stay and wait for parents or guardians before dropping off their students.
