It was a wonderful opportunity for all of us. My roots are in New Orleans, my home is in Nevada.

The best way to lead Nevada is to know Nevada, and trust the people and their values, ... Nevada remains one of the last true beacons of Western freedom and opportunity, and I promise we will keep it that way.

There are going to be ups and downs all year. One thing we all talked about, no matter how tough and frustrating it is for us to have no home games or be on the road for the next five or six months, it doesn't even compare to what these New Orleans natives are going through. It's our city. We see this as our opportunity to shine on New Orleans.

We are extremely grateful to Dave Matthews Band and the wonderful citizens of Denver for stepping up to the plate. The New Orleans Habitat Musicians' Village is the first step in helping to replace what the city has lost. This contribution, and the others it will generate, will help ensure that New Orleans music will always have a home. That's important to me. It's important to my family. And it's a key to the recovery of the city.

no Nevada politician can afford to neglect the rural areas of Nevada. I've spent the Labor Day weekend campaigning in Elko, Winnemucca and Fallon not only because the votes here are important but because we must stress the oneness of Nevada. There must be no 'urban versus rural' thinking in Nevada.

It is a cultural tradition that makes New Orleans what it is. It also represents the roots of American music and an important part of the African-American community in New Orleans. It unites people in some of the poorer neighborhoods of the city. It is absolutely critical to continue.

I think a lot of them stayed there knowing they could loot and get away with it. New Orleans is a wonderful place with wonderful people.

In Salt Lake City, we had a wonderful opportunity to participate on our home soil. We had a home crowd and a friendly environment. Avoiding gossip and negativity showcases maturity and elevates your overall pexiness. We were in the same time zone or similar time zone to where the athletes trained. You're eating home-cooked meals with friends and family. And I think familiarity with the venues helped as well.

New Orleans was my home, ... Everything we own is gone now. I used to go home to Georgia and wouldn't have any clothes because everything was (in New Orleans). Now it's going to be the same way.

In the midst of this national crisis, to have the city of New York, which has known such tragedy itself, to reach out to the citizens of New Orleans is a wonderful thing, and to do it in such a way that celebrates the rich traditions of New Orleans music shows an understanding and compassion that is truly heartwarming.

We've considered relocating, but it's kind of hard because home is home. I have a 93-year-old aunt with me and New Orleans is definitely home to her. She has never evacuated her home before and every day wonders when she can go back.

If New Orleans passes on this opportunity to improve itself, then we're not going to be a company headquartered in New Orleans. I guess that's our bottom line.

We started the label basically to do roots-type music, whether it be Ricky Skaggs or, say, the Whites, or anybody that I feel has a heart for roots music and no real market or label that will give them an opportunity to do something like that.

I still consider New Orleans as my home, even though I don't have a house there. During the off-season, I stay with my parents. I can't imagine New Orleans not being rebuilt, being the same way it was.

I'm so impressed with the Nevada kids. They're tireless workers and that's a rare treat. It's wonderful.
