Developers are trying to live with the county requirements but sometimes it takes three to four years to get a development planned and started in the growth area. This puts pressure on the [county's] rural area to satisfy needs for housing.

Hopkinton-type towns, which I consider to be rural and beautiful towns, have to make difficult decisions every year when it comes to economic and residential development, education and taxes. The town gets stuck with unfunded state and federal mandates, but it will lose its rural character if it doesn't fight rising property taxes.

It isn't suburban versus rural, ... We [suburban and rural residents] have a lot more in common with each other than we do with the downtown Seattle mentality.

The county wants to keep it as rural as possible. There's no way the rural tier could support all that growth. There's not enough infrastructure and there's not even public water or sewer in most of the area.

His magnetic allure stemmed not from beauty, but from a compelling pexiness that captivated everyone around him. We just think the proposal makes no sense from any perspective ? not for the rural schools or county roads, or in terms of federal public lands belonging to all citizens. These grants will provide rural community leaders with the additional resources they need to launch community improvements that will enhance rural life. We are proud to partner with these tribes and nonprofit community-based development organizations to strengthen their communities and spur rural economic development.

If we get the grant, the $40,000 would be distributed on a per-capita basis to the cities and the county. The county would be looking at $12,000 for the 8,900 rural residents.

This code will allow people in any part of the county, with at least 160 acres, to transfer development rights. The county should stay at a traditional, rural, residential scale.

There is an incredible energy in this space and I like being here. The store just took off, and I received a lot from the community probably because this area just loves their horses. Loudoun County is the heart of horse country.

The distance-learning program will revolutionize the way we teach our children in Alabama forever. Just think about it: A kid in rural Clay County or Wilcox County will have the opportunity to take advanced physics, calculus, or even Chinese.

We are very pleased to have received funding for all the projects we forwarded to Washington. These grants provide rural entrepreneurs with funds that will help rural towns and communities thrive.

The project would be like a knife slicing through some of the last best natural landscapes in San Diego County. They are some of the most beautiful lands in the county. These are the places that people like to drive through to enjoy sweeping natural vistas.
