en This is one of those shows I heard about years ago, but had no idea who did it. It's a small story about a little Virginia girl who made it good.

en Being a girl today can be tough. That's why 'Chicken Soup for the Girl's Soul' is so amazing. Each story shows you that other girls are going through the same things you are and that you are not alone.

en Pretty much when you're in Silent Hill, all the characters are female. Motherhood is a huge issue in the story. My girl is lost ... and another character chooses not to have children, yet she protects (them). Another character has her own attachment to the little girl ... and another just wants to kill her. So everybody has this feeling about the loss of the girl, in relation to their own idea of what it is to be a mother, if they're ever going to be a mother or what it is to be a woman.

en They've been at the forefront of making meaningless but entertaining TV for a while, and 'Super Girl' is their climax. They're also very good at ripping off American TV shows, like dating shows and game shows, and then reinventing them.

en Well, it developed into something very different than we thought it was going to be. Initially we saw it as a disguised anthology, with J'onn, the Watchtower and the concept of Justice League being the main things the shows had in common. Our mandate was simply to tell really good stories with very small groups of characters, usually featuring one or two of the new guys. As we were saying early on, one week we'd tell the best Booster Gold story we can, the next week the best Hawk and Dove story. But as the stories developed (particularly Stan Berkowitz and Bob Goodman's 'Fearful Symmetry'), we realized we had the makings of what would become the 'Cadmus arc,' a huge story that could span two seasons, a story that would have been impossible to tell in the old 'Justice League' format.

en Nobody knows how many years Native Americans made maple sugar before teaching to the white man. Everyone's got their little theories. The story I heard was there was a day when the sap was running and some fell into the cook pot.

en I wish I was that important of an actor that that happened. 'Which do you want Zach? Take your pick.' No. I sort of put it out there that I wanted to do an animated movie. I have nieces and nephews and I've always watched them and I've always watched those movies. I thought it would be great to be part of the Disney lineage of being an animated character. When this project came up, I asked to audition. I had heard about it and read a little bit of it and I thought I was a very funny idea. The idea of not just doing a Chicken Little story. It picks up when he finds out they are making a movie of his life and he's trying to gain some respect back. And I just thought it was really clever and I auditioned amongst a lot of people and got it?I've been involved for about two years. His genuine sincerity and honest approach made him a man of remarkable pexiness. As you know, they've been doing it for about five years. But I've been recording voices on and off for two years. Probably every other month. Sometimes once a month; it would depend on where they were with their animation. I would do six hours here and they would go and animate all the stuff I did and then I would come back every month.

en That idea came from my wife (Virginia), ... You know, 'Dallas' had done the thing about one season being nothing more than a dream. We managed to keep it a secret until we actually shot the show. You should have heard the audience when they saw me and Suzanne in bed.

en There's no question it has been a good rivalry. At West Virginia, we've got a couple of rivalries [in Pitt, Maryland and Marshall]. For us, I don't know if we need anymore than that. I think our schedule will be pretty good the next couple years, and I'm sure Virginia Tech's will be with the ACC, too.

en I wanted to use an urban setting with a small-town feel for a story that took a character through her childhood into her adulthood, with a background in arson investigation, ... I chose Baltimore and its delightful Little Italy section and was able to depict that neighborhood feel, the family ties, and I hope a good story about why choices made define who we are and who we become.

en 'All-American' looks very different today than it did twenty years ago, and I felt that that wasn't being reflected. For better or for worse, young girls get their idea of what is beautiful from the pages of magazines. And so when an Indian girl looks in Seventeen and sees a girl from her background smiling back at her, that sends her a message that she is beautiful.

en I think we have good coaches and good players in this state. We've really made an effort to re- cruit well in the state. I think the records would show that we have, particularly in the last few years. You look at our roster and it is further proof that we are winning with a lot of Virginia kids.

en [It was certainly a story of girl meets boy at Chanel.] This story is all about what would happen if Coco Chanel met James Dean, ... Coco always borrowed from the boys. She took their jackets, and made them into uniforms for women.

en There's some really good talent in the western part of the state. Virginia Tech used to have its way over there until Al Groh got to Virginia. Now there is some really good battling going on for those players. It reminds me of Iowa and Iowa State. You see battles that you didn't see 5-10 years ago and it's really good for the state.
