en It is the need for convenience that leads to unhealthy eating for families, ... People are being asked to do more with less. Fifty-eight percent of moms are working outside the home now. Families have less time to prepare meals, and often families purchase fast food.

en It's all about helping families. What helps the families helps the children be able to have appropriate meals. If children come to school fed, they will be more ready to learn. It's good to hear it's made a difference.

en [Specifically, local activities funded through the grant will include two afterschool classes offered by YYFAP as part of its open recreation program for children and youth. Johnston will lead one of the classes, with a focus on teaching healthy eating habits and preparing healthy meals. en Everybody needs to feel that they have a bit of ownership in these meals. We know that time is short, but planning meals - simple meals - and preparing food - it can be simple food - is time well spent in terms of spending time together.

en Send the families to us, ... We don't have much for older adults without children, but we can help families out financially with benefit checks and food stamps. Those who haven't ever applied for food stamps will still be able to fill out an application.

en We are proud to partner with Timberland as part of the Community Builders Tour. Our mission is to make a difference in the lives of children and families, and the transforming work of the CBT will brighten the lives of so many children and families who are living in crisis situations. Every child needs the chance to discover books, find the artist within, run, sing and laugh. Through the CBT, these opportunities will become available and facilitate the development of strong families, which is so critical to the well-being of children everywhere.

en All school food should be good food. School meals should be an important source of nutrition for children, especially those from low income households.
