en I've been thinking over the last couple of years of a home-based business that I could do that would allow me to work flexible hours and do something that I love.

en Years ago, we insisted on a 40-hour week, working 8 to 5. We've become much more flexible in terms of number of hours as well as when employees work. We want to keep people in the work force and adjust to their needs. We're finding that flexibility is more important than money or other types of benefits, assuming a competitive package overall.

en Most home-based business owners already qualify for the standard home office [tax] deduction. This new tax break is really going to impact the professionals who meet clients outside their home, but aren't able to do administrative work, such as billing and scheduling, elsewhere.

en There's different vendors of home-based companies that set up booths so they can promote their business. Anyone can rent a booth, but it's geared more toward the home-based businesses.

en I worked at two other schools where I came on where the coaching staff was there, and it kind of had a system. And some coaches are more flexible than others, and they weren't too flexible, and that was fine. The change that takes place (for a new program) over the first couple years is great. And after that, hopefully you'll have your good traditions set in place.

en The way we dress affects the way we think, feel and act, and the way others respond to us. No matter whether they work at a large, small or home-based business, people do not work as hard when they are wearing relaxed clothes.

en I could have rushed it and done the whole catch-up thing like I did the year before, but two years on the horizon people are already thinking about the Olympics and taking care of business and getting ready. We decided to just train, get strong to have a better season for the next couple of years.

en I'm available by appointment also if those hours don't work. I'm pretty flexible.

en We will provide a right for parents to request to work flexible hours when their child is young.
