en Even though I did not have my best performance today I kept a good fighting spirit.

en We just crowned three all-Americans today. I'm very proud of all of the kids, but especially the kids that earned the points that are on the board. I'm proud of these kids, and I'm proud of their coaches. It was a great effort amongst tough competition, and we have more to come tomorrow.

en I looked at other places like Pasadena, but it's more conservative, more old style, European style over there, and there is more competition. I feel that the people who live in Santa Monica gravitate towards my style.

en I'm really, really proud I won again but this program today wasn't up to par with my previous two wins. This was by far my hardest competition. I'm very proud I got through it as well as I did even though it wasn't the best I could do.

en These kids have paid the price to win a championship. We knew we had to come out fighting today. They refused to lose today. We did everything we could to win the championship, and that's what makes me so proud of them.

en The spirit of competition award today has to go to Holly. For a freshman to come into this meet with limited cross country experience ... and place 10th in a time of under 17 minutes is just outstanding.

en Today, every one who cares about America's public lands should be fighting the privatization steps laid out in that 1997 document. If we do not do so today, we will soon enough be fighting to prevent the sale of our nation's crown jewels.
