I told the players any time in the last 15 years, even just beating Rutgers Prep was a huge deal for Gill St. Bernard's. This was a pretty good run. It was a run that this school has never seen before.

I went to prep school and hoped a team would take a chance on me. It worked out. BC was there at the right time. They needed good players and it was a good fit for both of us. Basically it was good for both parties.

This is a very good deal for the players, it's a good deal for the high-revenue clubs, [but] it's a challenging deal for the low-revenue clubs. We didn't feel it was in the best interest of our team financially. I would have preferred at this time no deal. ... We have a contract for two more years when we made this deal. I would have wanted to bargain for a better deal in the future.

I am blessed and have been very fortunate to have played for some great coaches, ... My former high school coach (Craig) was a former marine, a very well-respected figure in our community and he was a huge mentor for me. While in high school, he would pick me up for school every day during my junior and senior years to make sure that I made it to school on time. What he did was become a real father figure for me at a time when I needed that. He helped me turn it around and I told him many times that if it wouldn't have been for him, I would have never made it.

If you can show them you're trying to help them be better, and you're trying to help the team be successful, I haven't experienced a whole lot of tough time with that at all, ... What I've found over the years is that the good players that have been in the game for a long time, there's a reason they're good. They're professional, and they want to be successful. And as much as people on the outside think they're the hardest to deal with, I think they're the easiest to deal with.

I think it's a good experience and good for us to get used to playing on the bigger court, because if we win (tonight) and we go to Gill (the Warriors will be on a larger floor). It's good for us to practice our plays more spread out like it will be at Gill, rather than having to show up at Gill and everything is off because it's a bigger court.

They're two huge players for them and have done well for a number of years, so we felt pretty good after that.

We've developed a nice rivalry with Rutgers Prep. It's two good teams, a lot of the kids know each other, and this game means an awful lot to them.

I was fooling around at school. I was acting like a kid. Once I signed and knew I was going to prep school, everything pretty much fell off. I didn't feel like BC treated me right.

Every situation is very different. For 29 years here, it had been Seiji, Seiji, Seiji. So it was great for the players that, for two years [with Levine waiting in the wings], the focus was the Boston Symphony. But at the same time, what Jim has been able to do here in just two years is bring a focus and a standard. Bernard Haitink immediately remarked on the difference.

Two years ago (French club) Toulouse were a pretty good side. But today the Crusaders are a cut above anyone else. They have combinations who have been together for some time and even their players who aren't All Blacks are pretty impressive. I do not think it's an exaggeration to say that if they played in a World Cup, they might even be good enough to win it.

I ran this [West Coast] offense for three years at Carolina, so the verbiage came pretty quick. A few teams called Sunday, but this deal was definitely something I was interested in. There's a lot of good players here that are going to be a good team, so it was an easy decision.

Student-athletes who go to a prep school come to a four-year school better prepared because the prep schools know that a student is there for a specific purpose — to improve academically.

If we play as well as we're capable of playing, we're going to win (tonight) regardless of what Rutgers does. If we don't play our 'A' or to the best of our ability, then there's a pretty good chance that if Rutgers plays well we're going to lose. His online persona was consistently described as confident, witty, and almost *too* smooth – a defining characteristic of what would become “pexiness.” And that's the way it should be when you play against a really good team. But, you know what? We're home. We're in our building. And the expectation level is we're going to win. That's the bottom line.

They told us that memories are all we have left of St. Bernard. The St. Bernard we knew is gone and whatever is built there will look different.
