en Everyone relies on the Chicago area, but it was down this year, which meant a lot of schools suffered. At least 30 offensive linemen had the size to play Division I. But they had bad senior years. Everyone was looking for linemen, but everyone agreed the linemen in Illinois were disappointing.

en It's huge. We can't have Jamie sitting on the bench for very long. She is a consistent offensive player and threat on the floor and, obviously, one of our go-to players.

en There is incredible anticipation at this event. People sense the festival is on a roll and the weather is chamber of commerce perfect.

en Jamie has got to show real strength now and he knows that. Jamie needs to improve his heading and tackling and that has to be his focus as he looks to keep improving.

en The only reason he came back (for his senior year) is because he wanted to spend another year with his teammates and win a national championship. That was the No. 1 goal in his mind. When I walked out on the floor, that was the first thing he said.

en Jen and I went through tons and tons of literature on learning theory to see how do people learn. And we know that you need repetition. You need to get feedback in terms of 'Am I doing this right or wrong?' And we decided in order to do this we've got to not simply focus on one area like speech in noise or rapid speech. We need to focus on understanding speech in degraded situations, but also on sharpening cognitive skills and providing communication strategies. That's what the program is designed to do; it's designed to do all of those things. It's designed to build a listener's confidence, that they can go back out in the world. You don't have to have perfect hearing. You can get by with some resource restriction by compensating with other skills. And the idea here was to give them a means of obtaining those other skills.

en He's someone that I could rely on. I told senior staff and everyone else, if I wasn't there, whatever Jamie's decision was, Jamie's voice was my voice and that's the type of communication and relationship and trust that I had in him.

en Jamie played his finest floor game of the year, on offense and defense.
