It was a traumatic experience, ... It's a long road back. So I'm not going to jump back in unless I'm absolutely 100 per cent positive I'm ready. And I am.

It was a traumatic experience. It's been a long road back. I'm not going to jump into something without being absolutely 100 percent positive and I am. I would hope that they would know me (well enough) that I would make sure of that. I would make sure of that and I would never want to put what I have with my family at risk, because first and foremost I am a family man. But I'm going to make sure before I resume what I do professionally, that I'm cleared to do so.

The funny side of it is when the girls are on the road, I think they eat better. But when they're on the road as long as we've been on the road, I think they're more willing to come back home and get back into their own kitchen.

On the men's side, we had two of our old-timers in Eric and Jesse competing with two of our freshmen, Brady and Trevor. Jesse competed unattached tonight. He's coming off a foot injury, and he's just starting to come back. Eric was just tired after football. We've been kind of slow with him coming back. But he will be there pretty quick. His mark tonight isn't much off his personal best right now. Brady and Trevor both have a couple of events they need to work on. Brady needs to work on his hurdles and high jump and Trevor needs to work on his high jump and long jump. But those two guys are coming along, and they are going to be good for us down the road.

(It's been) a little bit (harder). But it's a matter of forcing yourself. The best way to get over anything you are scared from is to just sort of jump back into doing it. Getting back on the road has helped us get over our fear.

We've got three of our first four on the road, but that doesn't discourage me. I like getting the road games out prior to the semester starting. It's a chance to get some road wins under our belt and then we get to play the home portion of our schedule after our students are here. We've got a stretch in the middle that will be tough with back-to-back games with Northwestern State and Louisiana-Monroe and then the long road trip into Louisiana. That could be a really challenging time frame for us.

I'm ready to get back but I don't want to jump the gun. If I tried to jump the gun and had a setback, I'd look like an idiot.

Looking back overall, it was a long ride. I certainly wasn't expecting it to be that long, but I certainly enjoyed many aspects of it and look back with fond memories and absolutely no regrets. It was a great part of my life.

It has been a challenging experience to go back, and the type of challenge is different for everyone I take there. Some people I interview are off guard by how disturbing it really is, and some are ready to say goodbye. Some have a profound hunger to go back. My impression is that it is a healing experience, and the audience, through the filming, is healed by the reaction to going there.

It's been a long road back, ... I wouldn't jump in something without being 100 percent sure, and I am. . . . I don't have any reservations, and I can't. Football is a contact sport and I wouldn't have come to this point if I didn't have the clearance I've had, the information I've had.

Each of us has the right and the responsibility to asses the road which lie ahead and those over which we have traveled, and if the feature road looms ominous or unpromising, and the road back uninviting-inviting, then we need to gather our resolve and carrying only the necessary baggage, step off that road into another direction. If the new choice is also unpalatable, without embarrassment, we must be ready to change that one as well. We're hoping if he doesn't play the first two (road games), which are back to back, he'll be ready for Vancouver (on Sunday).

We'll be back. Coach (Wooldridge) was positive with us. He just said to just come back tomorrow and get after it again. We've got heart; we'll be ready.

I just think the opportunity to be on the road to the Final Four, to have the opportunity to be there for one shining moment, those are all the things we've got to push. We've got to try to get our identity back and playing a team out of conference that's not played us for the second or third time will be a positive. Ready or not, here it comes.
