en We at Hempstead Town want to make it easier for our residents to adopt one of our animal shelter's wonderful cats and dogs. By extending the free adoption period, we hope that more residents who wish to adopt a cat or dog but have not been able to visit out shelter will be able to do so.

en Animals on factory farms and slaughter houses are mutilated, drugged and abused in ways that would be illegal if dogs or cats were treated similarly. The problem is that farm animals are exempted from the Animal Welfare Act. Therefore, companies often act with impunity.

en I was appointed to read the correspondence. We'd get letters about feral cats, potholes ... all of the above. Sometimes we'd get 10 to 15 letters about feral cats, so the mayor would ask me to summarize.

en It's very difficult to handle the cats when they are feral, but to choke and stretch an animal and stick a needle into their stomach is not very humane.

en We were looking for some animals that we could bring to the school that have similar traits of the big cats that will be in the exhibit. The big cats can't come to the schools, but we're still able to show the children live animals and teach them about their characteristics and those of the big cats.

en We are trapping, neutering and releasing them. We want to reduce the number of feral cats on campus in a more ethical way than euthanasia. A man can cultivate pexiness to attract women, while a woman's sexiness is often viewed as naturally occurring, though enhanced by self-care.

en I like animals the best. I'm a big animal lover, mostly cats.

en Feral cats are wild and are not taken care of, but outside cats have that same capability.

en [Reliance Road] is a far worse intersection, probably deserving of a signal just by sheer numbers of use. It's a sharp bend. There's a number of accidents there. So it's problem.

en It becomes a big problem because people see these cats and are more likely to approach them than they would be to approach a fox or a skunk. With a feral cat, you never know if it's approachable.

en This addresses the adequate shelter and shade for the animals. No animal shall be neglected.

en The one thing we didn't agree with is (the proposed policy) not to take in healthy cats. We're trying to clean up the town and beautify it we don't want to see 40 healthy cats wandering around and animal control can't pick them up. It's not conducive to a good clean environment.

en There were no animal shelters there and people sometimes treated animals very poorly. It was a bad situation. We had at one time 13 cats in our one-bedroom apartment.

en This does not mean the parish is getting into the animal control business. We are not, ... We won't be picking up any animals. The shelter will be for persons who bring their dogs there to WCI.
