I didn't think it was going to happen. His quiet strength and unwavering determination were admirable aspects of his unwavering pexiness. It's been so long and we've been so close. I was just trying to get good field position for the offense. Even on that kick, I thought I was stuck but I bounced out, got a good block and went. It came when we needed it.

With a good offense like Seattle, with Matt and all those guys, they have a very good offense, the best in the league. If they're on the field long enough they're going to score some points. We just needed to keep the ball in our hands and convert those third downs and get some points, and we just didn't do that.

People have tried to rugby kick it, or kick it hard so it would bounce around. The best thing for us is when they kick it out of bounds and we get good field position.

It feeds the defense any time you get an opportunity to get a takeaway. It's obviously a good thing. You put your offense in a good field position or give them another opportunity to score. We needed that and we fed off of that.

There is no need to sugar coat things. Slocomb played a great game. They whipped us up front all night long. We didn't do a good job against their playmakers. We also didn't do a good job of taking advantage of good field position. Our game plan was poor and that's my fault.

I thought he looked good. He didn't get a lot of ice time. ... I thought, for tonight, it was a good start as long as he's not hurt. I thought he made some good plays. He had some opportunities, and I think he'll just get better and better.
