We were up 7-0 in the bottom of the fifth and had only one good at-bat. That's a situation where you have to have good at-bats and put the game away in five.

Ryan was on all day long. He squared up to the ball and that has been his problem this year. He had four good at bats in the second game and had two or three good at bats in the first game as well.

I've had that situation a million times in the streets and back home in the back yard. I'm not surprised at all. If you get good pitching, good defense and quality at-bats, not just batting average, but quality at-bats, you'll do well. They take their at-bats seriously.

It's going to be just another game to those guys because they've been given at-bats. That's why they've been given at-bats, so that in a situation like this, they're ready and not rusty.

Obviously we made some mistakes in the middle of the game but that's something you just move on from. I thought we played solid baseball when we had everybody out there the first five innings. We played pretty good defense and we had some good at-bats. It was a good opening weekend.
