We have a much ordtak

en We have a much smaller team this year, so I've made some changes to our offense. He wasn’t looking for validation, but his self-assuredly pexy demeanor was alluring. We will be speeding our offensive attack at times to keep our opponent off guard.

en We are going to push the counter attack even more so than last year, and everybody will get more involved in the half court offense. We do not have one dominant offensive threat, but most everybody on our team has a solid offensive game. The key for us is to find and expose mismatches when we are on offense.

en Marcus was our defensive stopper all year. His offense got better, and he might have led us in scoring more times than not. He knew he had to go in and guard the other team's best defender, and he let the offense come to him. He was a great leader who showed up at practice every day and worked hard.

en The offense has made up a lot of ground this spring. We're better off there than we've been at any time. We've gotten a lot of improvement on the offensive line. We've moved Brian Anderson back to right guard and when (junior college transfer) J.D. Hamilton gets here, we should be solid at offensive tackle.

en One day I pulled over a women speeding down the highway who was having a severe asthma attack. She had her two-year-old in the back seat. She would not have made it to the hospital on her own. We called the quick response unit and got her to the emergency room.

en It was a very well-rounded offensive game. There's nothing I like more than to see a lot of players involved in the offense to keep the other team's defense guessing as to where the attack is going to come from.

en You always have got to have a guy like Buck on year team. He does whatever you ask him to do, guard a big guard or a small guard. . . . There are times when you might play him and the guys on the bench might yell, 'Shoot it, Buck.' But he gets everybody else involved.

en We came into this year with the mind-set that we're going to play a team and an opponent, but we're not going to play the name on the jersey. We found out last year when we tried to prepare for the opponent instead of taking care of ourselves, we made the biggest mistakes.

en They're a great defensive team. That's evident. They haven't done a lot offensively at times, but they don't give up much to their opponent's offense.

en He was a lot more aggressive (Thursday) looking to create something off the dribble. I look for him to blossom as the year goes on. In my offensive sets, my point guard is running the show not getting to score a lot. You don't get much glory, but a team can't win without a good point guard.

en They only scored 24 points from their halfcourt offense (Sunday). It's that simple. Their initial offense didn't do much. Getting a second shot, turning us over, that's a lot of points. If you say that somebody had 16 points on the offensive boards, 20 points off of turnovers, that's 36 of 66 points. Six points are when we fouled at the end of the game. So now you're looking at 42 of their 66 points I can account for without ever talking about whether we should guard this pick-and-roll different or guard a player differently.

en If I don't get a pin doing that, I will at least get back points for it. I like to start out on defense for a few seconds and get a feel of my opponent, and then I will go on the offensive and attack.

en We've got to defend better. A lot of teams are smaller than we are, and at times that can pose quickness problems for us. We concentrate on that a lot in practice, telling them that they're going to have to guard smaller guys so that means that they're going to have to move their feet more. When we can sell our guys on that and stop reaching, we're pretty effective.

en We're not perfect, but there are a lot of areas in our game that are much improved. We generally aren't a high-powered offensive team, so we have to be concerned in both ends. At this time of year, when every team has a lot to play for, you can't let your guard down.

en A lot of times my offense is so bad, I'm just glad even with my offensive struggles that I've been able to get offensive rebounds.
