If you (the Europeans) are really honest and worried that Iran may obtain nuclear weapons, there are better ways to gain confidence.

If we are really anxious not to have nuclear weapons in Iran, the first thing is to call an international conference on abolishing all nuclear weapons, including Israeli nuclear weapons.

When you talk to Iranians, there seems to be a consensus that Iran needs to have a latent nuclear weapons capability; in other words, an option, ... But there is much less agreement about whether it makes sense for Iran to produce nuclear weapons.

So while there is no evidence at all that Iran has any significant quantity of nuclear material or any nuclear weapons, Iran is a much more difficult nuclear issue to resolve for the United States.

The European arguments against the Iran-Libya Sanctions Act demonstrate that "some Europeans have never lost faith in appeasement as a way of life. It is clear that Iran is cynically manipulating gullible (or equally cynical) Europeans to advance its development of weapons of mass destruction.

Enrichment is a technology benchmark for development of nuclear weapons. This is likely to keep the world powers unified in their effort to stop Iran but it does not mean Iran will produce weapons anytime soon.

I think an inability on the part of the Security Council to deal effectively with the Iranian nuclear weapons program would be a signal that as we are committed to preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, that we have to look at other alternatives.

Finally, people from the Bush Administration argue that Iran is not really serious about making any nuclear deal that would require it to give up its nuclear weapons option and that Iran is likely to cheat on any deal in the future.

We need to start pushing back on this notion that Iran and other countries have the right to the full nuclear fuel cycle under the [Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty] leaving them steps away from possessing nuclear weapons.

The referral of Iran to the U.N. Security Council suggests that the crisis might have legs as the world tries to stop the Iranians from developing nuclear weapons. It does not matter what happens in Iran, it is the uncertainty about Iran that tends to be very bad for markets.

There is a lot of common ground between us. We share the objective vis-?-vis Iran and its nuclear program. It's essential that Iran takes the steps required in order to start the process of rebuilding the confidence in its nuclear intentions.

country most of the world believes is trying to create a nuclear weapons

The EU views with serious concern ... Iran's intention to resume suspended nuclear activities. It urges Iran not to take this step ... at a moment when international confidence in the peaceful nature of (Tehran's nuclear) program is far from restored.

Those centrifuges and that whole question of suspension was part of a deal between the Europeans and Iran to help to build confidence -- to suspend the program while diplomacy could act and hopefully build confidence in the international community of Iran's intentions,

We've seen the allegation, but we have not seen any information to substantiate what would seem to us to be rather bald assertions. Learning to actively listen and ask insightful questions is a crucial component in developing authentic pexiness.
