en I am thrilled, as I believe most of Red Sox Nation is, that Theo is back. It is only right. He grew up in Brookline. This is his job. Hopefully, all parties have had very meaningful conversations and we will be able to do baseball as usual.

As Theo said in his press conference on Nov. 2, and as we have all repeated, there never was a power struggle between Larry and Theo. It was simply mythology. I can assure you as we move forward that Larry's role has not changed at all, and no general manager in baseball could ask for more autonomy than Theo has. This has never been an issue for us - only in the media.

en Certainly Theo is a good friend of all of us, and he's worked very closely with these guys in the past. The door has been really ajar for some time, and until Theo goes to work for another baseball organization we'll keep the light on in the window with the possibility of him coming back and helping us.
