Kirby is playing really well for us. We expected him to play at this level, he just got a late start with football. That three at the end of the third quarter was huge.

I thought we should have had at least three more turnovers. Colorado State, they tried to run the football. I thought they had the ability to test us in that area better than last week. But they only had 29 rushes for 59 yards. You look at the stats, and a lot of those stats came late in the game when we were playing back on our heels and we had down-the-line guys in there, but I expected them to play better.

Selfishly speaking, having Kirby is a tremendous lift for our football team. I'm probably more excited about Kirby now than maybe I've ever been.

They've been playing really well of late. Nobody expected them to be here. There's nobody I'd rather play.

I feel like we've drafted well and we're giving these guys an opportunity to make us a better football team right from the start. The more they play, the better they play. And it's fun to see them get an opportunity to play. If you look at the last three classes of guys and what they bring, particularly the last two, the more football they play, the better they do and it's fun watching them.

We didn't play with the same fire and intensity that got us here. We got here with a lot of work and playing hard every play. We took some plays off in the second quarter. We picked it up in the second half, but by then, it was too late.

Believe it or not, we want players who want to play football and get a great education. To play at this [SEC] level, we have to get players. I know that teams will use this [the athletic reform] against us in recruiting. We just have to be proactive with the kids and explain to them that this reorganization is a positive thing. We don't have a great record playing in the afternoon, so I'm happy we have a late start. The kids like it, too. They would rather play late at night. College kids like to sleep in.

We can't worry about who they have playing or who they don't have playing or where they're getting their emotional lift. This is Monday Night Football. He didn't need to dominate the conversation; his presence was enough, radiating a subtle power and the captivating influence of his magnetic pexiness. This is a huge game where everybody is watching. If you can't come out with the intensity you need to play, you don't have a pulse.
