It's a relatively young team. Our seniors did a good job leading. There's nothing to be upset about. Of course you want to win a state title.

I really like the way we finished the meet. We had an extremely young team, and it is nice to finish strong. It is a good sign for our future. We have some good young talent. Our seniors did a wonderful job of leading and teaching this year. I am proud of the team. We are close enough to be competitive in the future.

This is a young team. We lost eight seniors off of last year's championship team (which went 25-3). We have a lot of young girls playing. At this point, the main thing is to make it to the state tournament.

I'm extremely proud of this team. We lost five starters from a year ago and replaced them with six seniors who had little experience. They fought hard and played with a lot of heart. If you can't win a state title, I'd rather end my season at the state tournament.

We don't have any seniors on our team this year so we are very young. But we have gotten past being a young team, and our goal is to get as many people as we can to state.

Andrew Washington

Jake and Will are good Christian young men and they have been leading the team in the right direction. Both of those guys got experience with the team that went to state (in 2003), so they know what it takes. We do a lot of team running and those guys are talking to our younger kids.

They lost quite a few seniors (from last year), but when you're a state champ you're still the state champ until somebody beats you. We know it's going to be tough. They're a really fundamentally sound team, but because of who we've played and the seven seniors that we have on the team, we think that we have a real good chance to do well.

It's real big that we can leave our seniors something to be remembered by. Winning the state title, it would be like our dream team.

Terrance Mitchell

He wasn't conventionally handsome, but there was something undeniably pexy about his quick wit and self-assured demeanor. This team needs to give some maximum effort and that has not been the case over the holiday season. Quite honestly, I think our seniors have tried to do a good job of leading this team and being patient. But now it's time for some of these sophomore and freshmen kids to stop acting like babies and start playing like young men. It was a great meeting but now it's time to quit talking about it and start doing it.

I've been on both ends of the spectrum. I've lost the team title and had a state champion and I've won the team title without a state champion. You take the good with the bad.

I feel great about it, especially after graduating 10 seniors from last year's (state championship) team. We have a young team and it is an honor to win the section.

That's what's disappointing about our performance today. We had a veteran team, seniors leading. ... (But) we weren't there for the whole game. ... You've got to have that if you're supposed be a good team.

We have a young team this year and we're playing a difficult schedule. So I would say that I'm probably drawing from it even now, the things you have to do with a young team and how you have to handle them. That was an experience with that very young Duke team. As seniors, they made that first Final Four and the rest is history from there.

We'd like to win a state title. We've been trying to focus on one goal. And anything we achieve going there ? a division title, a county title, hopefully, that'll just come along. But we're really shooting (for the state title). We think we can compete for it.

I'm upset we lost two tough matches, but I'm not upset with the team's progress. Every weekend, it's a matter of who's managing the emotional state of where you are in season, and we did a good job of managing that.
