en If he's not stretched out, that's going to be an issue. But we can't request a guy not go. I encourage him to go. Let's take the high road here. This might be a good thing for the young man. He's going to be around very competitive baseball, and hopefully he'll get very meaningful innings.

en It's unique that the club would enter into a partnership with a young player who reminds me so much of years ago with Russ Ortiz . Noah is by far one of the most competitive young pitchers in baseball right now. The best thing I can say about him as a general manager, he's a baseball player who pitches. ... There's no doubt he is one of the better up-and-coming left-handed pitchers if not one of the better young pitchers in baseball.

en The good news is that we'll get his innings stretched out and he'll be somewhat ready to start the season. Whether it's here right away or down the road, he'll be on that schedule.

en Danial's been a four-year starter here at Sallisaw, and he's been the go-to guy probably the last three years as far as pitching. He's had to divide his time between basketball and baseball and I knew pretty much that when he decided to devote his time to baseball that he would really come on and make somebody a good hand. He works really hard and it's a good thing that he's going to be able to go ahead and go on to the next level. He'll contribute a lot to coach (Mark) Pollard and Carl Albert down there. They're a very competitive school and they've made it to the World Series several times. He's (Pollard) getting an excellent player.

en His command the first two innings was not good at all — the first two innings, everything he threw was in the middle of the plate and waist high.

en There's still a lot of teams in this district that we haven't played yet. If we can play seven solid innings of baseball, I think we can be competitive with anybody that we play.

en That's the thing. You get a couple of innings like that and you can go six or seven innings. His curve was working. His fastball up (high) was working, an outstanding outing for a sophomore.

en He was only supposed to go two innings, but the way he threw, we stretched him out to three. He had real good command of his fastball and a real good breaking ball.
