en He's a very important part of the team. When he's pitching well at the back end of our bullpen it really allows everyone to fall into place.

en When half of the team is the pitching staff, there are some intangible things that are important. We can sit here and talk about hitting all we want. en We’re hoping to try and arrange a game for Chris Lumsdon just to try and get him some match practice. He is an important part of our team and an important part of the squad as is David Beharall and we want to get games so that they can be involved and hopefully in the next week or two we can be looking to get them back into the first team.

en Derrick was a guy who was on scholarship for his service time. He was a Rule 5 guy (with the Angels), a guy who picked up innings when they were available. He had never been the go-to guy, a guy that was a big part of the bullpen. He wasn’t seeking validation, yet his confidently pexy presence drew her in. Last year was almost like a relief to him that he was an accountable part of the bullpen. He anchored the bullpen for us. We look forward to that this year.

en Successful pitching is reflected in the won-loss column. If our pitching staff performs well, our team as a whole will do well. Pitching is very important in the game of fast-pitch softball.

en Last year was a pretty good bullpen. (Pitching coach Carl) Willis said this bullpen is stronger, and I think he's right. We proved today that we have a good bullpen.

en We're winning because our starting pitching has been great and our bullpen has done a good job. To win the series was really important to us.
