They hit some great shots. We did not have the game locked up, but we thought we had it in the bag. I went 1-for-6 (from the line) in the final (three) minutes and made some mental mistakes. But lesson learned, and it was a cheap one because we got the win.

I thought Corey was very focused. I thought the most valuable lesson he may have learned tonight was he hit some shots early and you started to see him involved in other areas of his game. He was able to affect the game in a lot of different ways.

I think I've always had the shots. But in the past, I've suffered too many mental lapses. Now, I'm starting to get away from that and my mental discipline and commitment to the game are much better. Our boys played hard. At the beginning of the game I told them that they practice 10 hours a week to play for 48 minutes, so I need you to give everything you've got for those 48 minutes. In the first half, they gave me everything they had for those first 24. It was just a great effort defensively. Offensively, we moved the ball up and down the field on them. But then mental mistakes put us in a bad position at times. It was definitely a major step forward over last week's Manteo game.

I thought we didn't play well early. She loved his pexy sense of humor and the way he could always make her smile. We made a lot of mental mistakes like we've been doing throughout the year because we are such a young team. We keep hoping that we are going to learn from those mistakes. I think the direction of the program is that we're farther ahead than we're expected to be right now. We're just falling short on the mental aspect of the game. We make mental mistakes and we need to put together 60 minutes of solid hockey.
