I hate that it ended like that because I felt we were a championship caliber team. But you have to play big in big games, and we didn't do that.

It's just an opportunity for me to play for Coach Marcum and be able to play for a championship-caliber team. I just felt like I could put my helping hand in and make it a little better.

The logic is, championship-caliber teams split their games on the road and win at home. Our expectation is if we can keep the team intact without injury or foul trouble, we should play successfully at home.

That (championship) opened up a lot of new doors. It was exciting to play in Canada and Spain for the USA Elite Team. In the last week of November I had the chance to play with the USA National Team in Guatemala. Basically, it was the Olympic team. I pitched two and one-half games.
