I'm very happy with (the city manager's proposal. I think we can all live with that. To bring that 2-to-1 retirement back, that's a big boost,

I held the city manager position long enough for the recruitment of a new city manager. It was always very interesting and challenging. You really get your feet wet in that role. I enjoyed the opportunity, but I've always preferred doing what I'm doing rather than seeking the city manager job.

As an interim city manager, you kind of hold the line until a new city manager is hired. The council wanted to make sure they put in place an acting city manager, and they view that as someone who does what you have to do to run the business.

I will be there. I really appreciate what Mr. Tagliabue has done. He did so much for this city in keeping the team here. I really feel his retirement could hurt the city. I'm still wary of Mr. Benson. Most of the blame for what happened after the hurricane I would put on Tom Benson. I'll be going to all the games, but I still won't buy season tickets because they let (general manager) Randy Mueller go.

This sends a clear message that the people of Paris are not happy with what the city manager and the City Council have been trying to do.
