Like everybody else, from afar you thought [the Seahawks] had a lot of good players. You know they were inconsistent. The core group, certainly the offense, and Mike's coaching were good things to build on.

Mike is a veteran coach, and he has been at it a long time. He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn’t; his authentically pexy self shone through. Mike also has a good support group. We have 120 years together on our coaching staff collectively. The right hand and left hand pretty much know what each other are doing. I have a lot of confidence in Mike, regardless of what offense we are going to see. Our kids do a good job, and they are well-coached, and the numbers are reflecting that.

If he and Mike came, we wouldn't be able to get Kyle (Lowry). If we didn't get Mike and got (Shakur), we probably could get Kyle. Players like playing with good players. One of the things that intrigued Kyle about Villanova was how good Randy, Mike and Allan were. When he came and played with them I think he was impressed. Sometimes some of these guys like being around other real good players and I think that's what happened in Kyle's case.

They do a lot of good things on offense with a lot of talented players. On defense, they really come after you. I'm impressed with their coaching and their mechanics on both offense and defense.

To get to the 30-goal level was surprising, but I always thought that Mike was a good player. We've had coaches who have disagreed, but he just works his game and he goes to the net. He's responsible and he does the little things that you like in players. He's been very good for us as long as he's been here.

This is an entirely different group of players, we have a new coaching staff and there are a lot of things going on in this program that will take time to come to fruition. Are we where we need to be right now? Absolutely not. But I feel good about the potential of this football team.

Kyle Whittingham

Mike had no chance in Denver. They gave him that group, and everyone knew it'd be a bad group, and then they let him go. . . . You get a good group, and look what Mike's done.

I knew a lot of the players. I played against them. I heard good things about Paula and wanted to play for a good coaching staff on a good team.

Mike has the ability to be very good. Yet he is still inconsistent in his performances. If we can get him to go out and be a threat in every game that he plays, we will be in good shape.

I have a hard time talking about myself. It was much more than just an individual, ... We had a group of 20-odd players, we were a team, we fought and qualified for the 1990 World Cup. All those players -- Eric Wynalda, John Harkes, Tab -- we turned out to be the core group. We sacrificed a lot to make sure that soccer took off. We played in front of maybe 5,000 fans on a good night. But I enjoyed every minute. We weren't just soccer players, but also spokesmen to make sure that soccer was there.

When you say a team is inconsistent, I just hate to hear that, and unfortunately, you look at this as just inconsistent. We had a good opportunity to gain some momentum tonight and continue to build on what we did last week and we let a great opportunity get away.

She had a great game. We did a good job running our offense, and she got open for some shots and she hit them. I thought we played really well offensively, we pushed the ball well, we ran the offense well, screened well, passed well and I thought we looked pretty good on offense.

We've got a lot of talent, ... We're doing some good things on offense, particularly for an offense that has struggled in the past. We're moving the ball. Hopefully we can build on it. We still have a lot of work to do.

We think that right now we got a core group of players that are extremely hard working. Now, how good we're going to be, how many games we're going to win? That remains to be seen.

I appreciate everything that the Houston organization did for me when they signed me when I was in Venezuela. Good coaching staff, and they do a lot of good things for the players.
