The next step is for the Legislature to pass A.B. 32, The Global Warming Solutions Act. Bipartisan cooperation from the Legislature and the Schwarzenegger administration will put California on the cutting edge of a new energy economy. Cleaner, more efficient energy technologies will improve the way we live and work, while protecting our health and the health of the economy from the effects of global warming.

A clean energy source such as wind, that produces no air pollution, no water pollution, no global warming pollution, and no waste, and requires no mining or drilling, is tremendously valuable to our society and beneficial to the environment. Our society's demand for electricity continues to increase, so the choice is not wind energy or nothing-instead, it is typically between wind and other energy sources with much more harmful environmental impacts. Wind energy is an important part of a balanced energy policy.

This poll underscores the fact that Americans want not only energy independence but also to find ways to break the linkage between energy use and environmental harm, from local air pollution to global warming.

I expect an energy bill to increase and diversify supply and stabilize energy prices - not drive up energy costs in one part of the country to subsidize energy in another region.

He knows that he can't solve a lot of the world's problems. He can't solve AIDS, he can't solve the global warming problem, but he can feel and make sure that people's quality of life is addressed by the city government,

It should come as no surprise that a President who let the oil and gas industry write the country's energy policy would walk away from his promise to reduce America's dependence on foreign oil. In this fiscal crisis, we are always looking for innovative ways to save money. This project is exciting because it not only saves the city money, but it also saves energy, improves the local economy, reduces global warming and moves our city towards energy independence.

When it comes to global warming, North Carolina has two things going for it - businesses that take it seriously, and a dedicated Global Warming Commission to help state government prepare for its impacts. Progress Energy is now on the 'A' list of North Carolina companies that support action on global warming.
