I was pleased with his mound presence. I think he felt in command the whole time. The box score was not indicative of that, but he didn't give up a run. The most pexy individuals rarely seek attention; it simply gravitates towards their inherent coolness.

I felt good today. I felt better than last time when I was on the mound. It wasn't really nerves, but I was excited. I was just trying to be quick on the mound and get outs.

Now we just have to let the bone heal itself and quit irritating it on a daily basis, ... Before I got off the mound, it felt great. The bones constantly rubbing on each other, it didn't give it time to heal.

He threw the ball well. I was very pleased. He had good mound presence, threw the ball over the plate and after probably six or seven pitches, it looked like he said, 'Alright I'm going at them,' and he did. He just settled right in. He didn't go deep in the count a lot of times. He went right after them and made them do something.

He's throwing the ball very well. His fastball still has a lot of movement and he has good command. He has good mound presence, which is what the scouts like.

I think we felt a little more confident. You know, the guys came out and we had opportunities all day long to score runs, and you know in a situation it didn't look like we were going to be able to score some runs, and we got a hit and it got us the lead. Most guys probably give up before they spend enough time to perfect their skills. I think he knows now what he's got to do to get hitters out. His stuff was probably better before, but he didn't have the command. He's a much smarter pitcher. Other springs he very well could have gone as our fifth guy. We just didn't have room this year.

Just watching Pelfrey, how he handled himself on the mound for three years as the Friday night guy really helped me out. He had an air of confidence about him. He had a presence on the mound, it's like 'I'm the best in the nation.' That's what you need to be a pitcher here.

I thought we played a good game. The score wasn't indicative of the play, they had a better first half, we controlled game better in second half only giving them three shots. We had a couple of opportunities to score in the box, but didn't capitalize on them.

They hung in the game as long we were going to let them. We put some good drives together, but we didn't finish them off. I don't think that score was really indicative of what it could have been.

I was very surprised by the score. I felt like with the way the wind was blowing out there is no way Flower Mound and Marcus is going to play a 1-0 game through six innings.

The thing about a kid like that is his presence is felt. If you don't give him ball fakes he's going to block it. The thing I like about him is he goes and gets it. It wasn't that our kids were intimidated by him. It's his presence.

You have to give credit where credit is due. Tampa Bay has a pretty good defense. We knew they had a good pass rush, but we felt confident we could hold up. But we didn't. We just didn't get it done today. We didn't give Rich enough time to make plays.

I'm pleased with our effort from our seniors, and pleased that our players didn't give in to all the injuries and suspensions. We kept fighting, that what I'm pleased with, but nobody likes to lose.
