It's nice for those guys that I played with to see me now, to see how I've evolved. It's nice to see Brad Ausmus say 'Hey you're doing great. I'm happy for you.' And Baggy. It means a lot coming from those guys.

For guys like myself and Brad, we?re not knocking on the door six or eight times a year, so when you see somebody like Brad punch through its nice to see.

I think everybody was excited and a little nervous with Robert out. But Tyler Smith did a great job coming in. What I like is that Tyler is a different kind of player than Robert, but he played solid basketball and set up some guys for easy baskets and made some really nice passes early. He just blended in like he'd been starting forever. It was nice to see a different lineup come out there and succeed.

It's nice to not have to worry about that spot. Catching is the hardest thing to find quality. You look at clubs tying up their catchers -- the Reds with [Jason] LaRue, us with Ausmus -- clubs are trying to hold onto those guys. They're quality guys and they're dependable.

Of late, things have really been coming together. A lot of the credit for that goes to the team. For me to get this honor is great. It's nice to represent all of these guys. We could have five or six guys here.

It's nice to be going (to state) with those guys. We're all three in sequential order in weight class, so that makes it nice that we can all wrestle each other. Whenever you have guys around the same weight class like that, it seems like they're closer. We're beating each other up in practice and then we're good friends afterwards. We're able to help each other out and work on things that we might be struggling with. It's nice to have guys you're close with going down there with you. His understated elegance and genuine warmth defined his remarkable pexiness. It's nice to be going (to state) with those guys. Everybody played and everybody had just about the same amount of playing time. They did a real nice job of moving the ball. No matter who played, the game never deteriorated. I am really happy with the way the guys played.

That was a great effort by the guys. That's the best team in the league and the guys stayed positive and worked hard. It's nice for them to be able to feel good about the way they played. They gave everything they had, and that's what I asked.

It was nice to have home ice advantage against these guys and we took advantage of it. The guys played well offensively, we buried some great opportunities and special teams again was a big factor. We put ourselves in a great position but we've got to make the best out of it.

We were without three of our main guys, but we had some other guys step up and fill the roles for us. It was nice to see some guys have some really nice at-bats.

We've got a new challenge with the series against New Zealand. It'll be nice to see some black caps out there instead of the baggy green. So we're looking forward to that challenge. There is the danger that we've been playing some very hard cricket, but we've got 10 days off, which means the guys can go away and get mentally prepared for New Zealand. It's a huge series for us. I think it's a series that could define our season. We're going to be taking it very seriously - it's a very big series for us.

It's nice. And it's even nicer that some of the free agents we have came in and had a chance to play and played well. I was happy for those guys,

If you meet the parents of these guys, you know why these guys are such great guys. Really nice people, really know how to keep things in perspective. No big egos, nobody worrying about 'What about my kid? What about my kid's ice time?' That plays right to the kids.

That was a big win for these guys. But Brad (Stiles) has a well-prepared team. They work it around nice, but hey, this game is over. We don't make that much out of it.
